That is temporary. I saw an interview with him where he specifically stated he wants to own a dog, to show his children the proper way to care for a pet. All the words/concepts he used were correct. He either is truly reformed, or he has GREAT PR guys writing his stuff. It is probably a combination of the 2. I think he mentioned what type of dog he would get, but that is possibly incorrect. I would guess that if I saw such an interview it is likely findable on Youtube or somewhere.

Sure, but for the bet to count, he must ahve one by the deadline.
So what's to prevent him from 1) getting the judicial order lifted or annuled and then 2) buying himself whatever breed stands to amke the most money after plunking down a few hundred grand himself on it (either directly or through intermediaries).
What I mean is that Vick can remove the chance component of the bet entirely.

If the judge lifts the order, he may not allow Vick to obtain certain breeds (i.e. Pit Bull, Rott, etc...)
But the real answer to the question is that the max bet on these props is usually around $300. Not really worth his time.
