Looking for advice / input on bonus hunting. Understand the concept but no experience.

Lot of bonuses look to have (1x) play thru requirement. Loss rebate style bonus.

before anybody can answer your question well they have to know some things about you

do you believe you can beat the books for real money if there were no bonuses_______? - have you been paper betting and are confident you can do that____?


if the answer is no then the best way to proceed is to bet the absolute minimum to get the bonus and to be sure that mathematically the bonus means that with average luck you would have an advantage - which is probable

then after you received the bonuses - and you want to bet recreationally - you should bet the absolute minimum that you can and still get some enjoyment out of it

how much would depend upon your financial situation and your risk tolerance

if betting with no edge is not what you want to do you can just leave with however much is in your account



if, on the other hand you do believe you have an edge then you're going to bet anyway, after you have earned the bonuses

so, all you need to do is make sure you bet enough to get every possible bonus within the required amount of time

and then bet with your edge and continue making money



as to rebates - the HA on a traditional spread bet and on most money line bets is about 4.55%

parlays are much different and much more complicated - and I can't really get into that here

so, if you have no edge, and just want to milk bonuses you would want to be sure that they are going to rebate you more than that %

to be worthwhile, if you bet $1K they should rebate you at least $50 and hopefully more or it probably is not worth your time


if you do have an edge, you would want to bet at the level where you would get the highest % rebate as long as it is within your means

I always look at it this way - even if I believe I have an edge - if I bet $5k total - each indidvidual bet being smallish - I need to be sure that I am fully accepting of the fact that if I have a very bad run I could lose $2k

Have had reasonable success betting with local bookie but far from a pro.

Just thinking possibly low hanging fruit when betting starts.

I’m very fond of advantages that are a lock. Such as recent I bond thread I had started.
