Let's call it the same thing and say just to get picks in before 15:00 EST on Sunday, 1/30/22 (kickoff); I'd never have an up to the minute deadline for the regular game, but it's basically fine for the Playoff Game. There will likely be an earlier in the day deadline for the Super Bowl, of course.

Pick are fine. I made a follow up post saying that I thought picks were worth 3pts this week, but then deleted after I reread the rules.
Here's the full worksheet so far... but I suspect the image might be too small to read.
Quote: gordonm888Rams open as a 3.5 point favorite in the Superbowl. We all have two weeks to endlessly analyze that one.

My local book has 4 now. I would have guessed Bengals -2 so I guess I can forget about a guest appearance on the Stardust Lines Show.
Interesting that exactly half of the players are above .500 and half below.I sort of like Cincy +170 at my local book.

I'm sorry about that! It seems EdCollins has recognized them, but I also added them to that post as a formality. I must have accidentally closed the tab that contained your picks when I was compiling them. That's usually how I do it---just open them all at once in new tabs.
Quote: VegasbrentHow I'm not in last place is astounding! I'm doing tragically awful with my picks.

This is rather frustrating to me as I’ve been trying to get to last place the last two weeks.

No worries. No blood, no foul.
These were the ten questions the last time we held the contest, two years ago:
1) Will an equal or lesser number of points be scored in the third quarter as in the first quarter?
2) Will an equal or lesser number of points be scored in the second quarter as in the fourth quarter?
3) Will the team that calls the toss be correct?
4) Will the first score of the game be a touchdown?
5) Will Patrick Mahomes have at least 100 more passing yards than Jimmy Garoppolo?
6) Will Patrick Mahomes be credited with six or more rushes? (Not yards, number of carries)
7) If we multiply the points scored in the fourth quarter by three and then subtract two, will that result be MORE points than was scored in the first three quarters combined?
8) Will at least one two-point conversion be attempted in this game?
9) If overtime DOES NOT count, will 27 or more points be scored in the second half?
10) Will there be a failed 4th Down Conversion attempt in this game?

You can expect Questions 1-4 to remain the same. Question #8 will appear somewhere, as will Question #10.
The Super Bowl Lines and Prop Questions are as follows:
Super Bowl kickoff is 18:30 EST on Sunday, so I think that 17:00 EST will be a reasonable time to require that the picks be submitted.
Please make both of your Picks AND answer all of the Super Bowl questions. For tiebreaker purposes, please also (separately) predict the exact score of the game.
Los Angeles Rams (-4) v. Cincinnati Bengals (+4) O/U 48.5
PROP QUESTIONS:
1) Will an equal or lesser number of points be scored in the third quarter as in the first quarter?
2) Will an equal or lesser number of points be scored in the second quarter as in the fourth quarter?
3) Will the team that calls the toss be correct?
4) Will the first score of the game be a touchdown?
5.) Will at least one two-point conversion be attempted in this game?
6.) Will there be a failed 4th Down Conversion attempt in this game?
7.) If we subtract one from the number of TD passes thrown (by both teams), will the number of TD's thrown still meet or exceed the combined number of interceptions thrown and fumbles LOST by both teams?
8.) Will Matthew Stafford have more passing yards than Joe Burrow in this game?
9.) Will the longest FG MADE in this game exceed the yardage of the longest pass completion?
10.) Will there be at least three combined rushing TD's in this game?
Quote: billryanCan you review what the points are for this weekend? Is each question worth 1 point and the game and O/U worth 4 points each, or something like that?
link to original post
That is exactly correct, so getting the spread, O/U and all questions right makes as many as 18 points possible.
All of the other questions are YES or NO questions. If we rephrase #8 to: "Will Stafford have more passing yards than Burrow?" than that also becomes a YES or NO question.

Teams and score. I know people going for the, 'You Suck,' prize could gimmick the score for tiebreaker purposes, but they'd still have to get the winner wrong.

These are the standings going into The Big Game, yes?
With 18 points possible, it is wide open.
I wish it were still wide open.
IndyJeffrey is 3.5 points ahead of me. That pretty much means I have to pick differently from him, for either the spread or the total, AND I have to get both correct.
Anything less and it will be almost impossible to catch him.
With ten props, many of our our prop picks will be the same. I have to hope we pick opposite on several of them and I have to win those.
A lead of four points or more is actually hard to overcome.

NOTE---Both EricGarthwaite and Gordonm888 did not make an attempt to answer the prop questions, thus, both are disqualified from the, "You Suck," prize.
1) Will an equal or LESSER number of points be scored in the third quarter as in the first quarter?
NO. 3rd Quarter had MORE. (3rd = 13. 1st = 10.)
2) Will an equal or LESSER number of points be scored in the second quarter as in the fourth quarter?
NO. 2nd Quarter had MORE. (2nd = 13. 4th = 7.)
3) Will the team that calls the toss be correct?
NO. (Rams, as the designated visiting team, called it and were wrong.)
4) Will the first score of the game be a touchdown?
YES. (Odell Beckham Jr. Pass from Stafford for 17 Yards.)
5.) Will at least one two-point conversion be attempted in this game?
YES. (Maybe. ESPN is apparently calling this botched 1-point try an unsuccessful 2-point try. Since they initially lined up and attempted a 1-point try, it seems to me it should be an unsuccessful 1-point try, but what do I know.)
6.) Will there be a failed 4th Down Conversion attempt in this game?
YES. (Bengals attempted to convert a 4th down early, and failed.)
7.) If we subtract one from the number of TD passes thrown (by both teams), will the number of TD's thrown still meet or exceed the combined number of interceptions thrown and fumbles LOST by both teams?
YES. (5 TD passes - 1 = 4 > 2 interceptions.)
8.) Will Matthew Stafford have more passing yards than Joe Burrow in this game?
YES. (Stafford 283 > Burrow 263)
9.) Will the longest FG MADE in this game exceed the yardage of the longest pass completion?
NO. (Longest pass play was 75 yards.)
10.) Will there be at least three combined rushing TD's in this game?
NO. (Zero rushing TDs)
I would have needed 6/10 correct picks on the props to finish in the money. Oh well.

Unfortunately all I won is bragging rights in this thread! It was pretty fun to hit my exact score even though it was only the tiebreaker.

Congratulations to IndyJeffrey on the win, Wizard on the second place finish, JML24 on third place and UnJon for getting the, "You Suck," prize!
I'll be sending some PM's out either later today or tomorrow as relates payouts.
I can confirm that there was a failed Two Point Conversion in the game as that goes down as a 2 PT Attempt (Incomplete Pass) as there was no Extra Point try that either missed or was blocked. That's how it is scored when that happens, as a failed 2PT, so that is correct.
It was still fun.
Thanks for having the contest and letting me play.
I will do better on any future contests. You can bet on it!
