First Book to Reopen?
Does anyone have any guess as to the first physical books to reopen?
I called William Hill and they did not know. I tried calling the gaming control board and they had no info.
The mobile apps seem to require in person activation so that does us no good till something is open. We figured some spots in Vegas or Laughlin have to be ready to go even if it is just NASCAR and horses.
I know TI and others have submitted plans. Does anyone have inside info on small locals type books who have submitted reopening plans? What are the odds on being able to bet NASCAR in person on May 17th?
There are a lot of us Californians ready to spend money in Nevada the second we know we can!!!!

I would say there is zero chance Nevada casinos will be open by 5/17. I am thinking mid June is more likely.
I think TI put the plan out there because they are more of an independent and decisions have to be funneled through fewer people.
Pechanga has a race book, right? Did they ever get a sports book up and running?
I have a few bucks (four digits) in NCAA hoops and XFL futures tickets that I need to get refunded in LV, but they can wait. I considered doing the registered mail thing, but God knows who's checking the P.O. boxes these days, so whenever I get there, I get there. If it's six months from now, so be it. If it's a year, so be it, also.

I'm pretty sure non-horse-racing sports books are still illegal in California, even at tribal casinos. California's state Constitution only allows for "the operation of slot machines and for the conduct of lottery games and banking and percentage card games." (Tribes can also conduct gambling open to non-tribal parties, including offsite horse race betting.)
There is a petition to get a legalization vote on the ballot, but I don't think it will get enough signatures in time for 2020, especially with fewer people being able to stop and sign them, so I doubt there will be any California general sports books before mid-2022 at the earliest.
