If I stick to what we have been doing there will be a $280 bet on seahawks. Seems like everyone has them as their confidence pick. Do I bet the entire 280, cut it in half, or skip the game. If I do 280 that may be the end of the game if it loses.

I worked a rattler schedule for 20 years. Every week it was 4pm-midnight, 2pm-10pm, 7am-3pm or 10am-6pm, 6am-2pm, then that same day 10pm-6am. My first 10 years of it, I would stay up after the mid shift. But gradually I got too old for that s#!/ and started taking a 3-4 hour nap.
I don't miss that schedule AT ALL.
So, yeah, I feel your pain.

Its that time again. Got all of the bets in. Had 2 deviations from the normal bets. The Jags game I did not get it in because it started prior to deadline. Its a shame since we would have won that game. Also the vikings game had a ton of action on it. It would have been $150 bet at -1.5. Unfortunately with the change of QB the line went to -5. I didnt want to put that type of money on the game with a new line. I did decide to make a ML bet on the game for half the amount. We would have had 150 at -1.5 so I did 75 ML at -180. -180 seems like a good line because a lot of sites have it at -250 and if I were to buy the -5 to -2 it was -195.
We also have some other big bets going this week. Packers, Patriots, and Giants. We have our largest bet of the year going on the Packers for $170. This is either going to be a huge week for us or the last week. I don't foresee a break even type of week with the way these bets are. We have $640 wagers for a potential payout of $1164.

damn, kc pulls it out. I guess I should have just ignored the game, but at least the line changed enough that I only did half. Would have had a much bigger loss if it stayed at -1.5. Today is the opposite of the other week where we won all of our large bets and lost the small. This week we are losing all of the big and winning the small. Gotta really root for GB this afternoon.

You should have been more creative than springing for a WOV Spring Fling dinner, it's already been done more than a few times.
You should put it into that WOV poker tournament I was talking about. You could even use some for Bounty money on people.

I'd be in for a poker 'tournament', as opposed to a cash game. I used to (college) play a lot of cash games at low stakes and would virtually always win. It was with friends, and after a while it became somewhat unpleasant winning all the time. At one point they accused me of only being able to win because they would all be getting high and I wasn't. So for a short while I would smoke marijuana with them just to be allowed to keep playing! I didn't like the marijuana, and it didn't affect my game.
I guess it is a weakness of my own, but once I'm playing for cash the "friend" part gets subjugated. I've played for quarters with a group of friends over the past few years. They never can understand why I'll go out "rather than put two more quarters" in. I don't think I ever lost in that group.
So Axel.... I'd play a tournament with you guys, but not a cash game.

Many years ago I played in a home poker game with about six friends. It was great the first year or so but then everybody started getting too serious and they all quit drinking when playing. I quit, I want to play a fun game with friends and drink and smoke and have fun. This game was no longer fun.

The Patriots defense is absolutely nasty, let's get that out of the way. The team has allowed 108 points in ten games, which is naturally 10.8 points per game. The second closest in the league is San Francisco with 155 points allowed.
That is just straight up ridiculous. I don't even care if their opponents have a Patriots independent combined record of 39-49. Allowing only 10.8 points per game is just absurd in today's NFL.
That being said, I took the Cowboys and the points. I saw the Patriots defense against the only strong offense they have faced this year, and I think we all know what the results of that were. I also thought the UNDER was tempting, but lose every time I make a play on those in the Picks Game.
Interestingly, the Patriots have actually scored the fifth most points in the league. They also enjoy the best points differential in the league, by a lot, so I consider them a well-above average team.
That said, they are also playing an above average team, something they are not used to, so I think the Cowboys can at least keep it close.

Getting 6.5, I was happy Dallas kicked a FG down 7 on 4th and 7, with 6 minutes to go. NE was going to try and run the clock out, and a successful drive eats enough time to do so. If I'm the owner of the team I fire Garrett on the spot. I have little use for chicken shit head coaches.

Going to update this now even with an entire quarter to go. Baltimore looks like a superbowl team. As long as Baltimore holds we will be close to the top of the hole that was dug in week 9. Not sure what next week will look like with so the extra games on Thursday. Our bet distribution might be skewed.

lmao, it was a VFW christmas party. I can watch the games on my phone via hulu but they get cranky about electronics during the party. I got home at the end of the 3rd quarter so not all was lost. Steelers play at 430 so it worked out.
