I posted this in the picks game thread but I wanted to dedicate a thread to this.
I am offering a free roll (towards dinner at spring fling). I am going to use the consensus picks against the line and make those bets at my local. However what this means is my lines will be slightly different than what are posted because of the stale lines. I am also not using over/unders for a reason I do not want to discuss. I know this will make the outcomes different, but this is a free roll so if you do not like it then F you. I am going to bet 1 unit per unit against the line. My unit is going to be $10. On the games that I just bet they were all -110 so my $10 will win 9.09. I know people usually bet 110 to win 100 (or 11 to win 10) so I guess technically my unit is $9.09.
So my bets will be something like this. We had 4 picks on Falcons and 2 on Vikings. If there is a confidence pick it counts as 2. So for this game I wagered 2 units on Falcons.
We had 17 on broncos and 0 on raiders so I put 17 units on the broncos.
Rules: I will donate any wins that I get on this towards dinner at the spring fling. You must be in the picks contest to benefit from the dinner free roll so if you are at the spring fling but not in this contest then you get nothing. Also if you are in this contest and you do not attend the spring fling you also get nothing. I believe you can enter this contest until week 2 so you still have a chance to get in. Since Mission will not post the picks until close to game time there may be a few weeks that I do not get the picks in. The only picks that count towards this are the ones that I post each week. I gotta protect against some vulchers ordering a $30 steak so the max contribution will be the first $200 plus 33% of winnings after $200. I am the sole judge of this contest and can change the rules at anytime. If you don't like it then feel free to opt out.

Looks like a good week 1 start. cost of bets today were $520. Current cashout is $786.33 with Texans game still to play.
Benefited from a change in line today. Contest had charges at -6.5. I got them at -6 this morning which resulted in a push.

I'm in. I recommend using all the players picks every week. Implying that because some players were lucky in the first half that they will be lucky in the second half makes no sense. You don't think we have anyone here good enough to beat the vig reliably, do you? No matter what, please dont take the Dolphins ever....

I will do all, and no probably can not beat the vig but you never know. Very true about people getting lucky, plus if the people going for last place try to go last place wouldn't that be the same as them doing good since they already are doing bad.

I originally had the money down on Oakland by accident. I screwed up and saw the +2 and took that side which was the wrong side. It was brought to my attention in the other thread so I cancelled that bet. Apparently I should have just let the bet stand but I guess it is a good thing that I did not make the proper bet.

So this week I have some terrible lines and even some extra juice. I also did not get the 49ers game in. I know I had bet it but I must not have confirmed it or something. About an hour ago I was putting everything together but I was having internet problems. The lines were changing so quickly right before game time and some of them added extra juice right before as well. Since I am new to sports betting I didn't realize that they were as dynamic as they are. I know they change throughout the week but I ddin't realize they changed like horsebetting.

Even with the terrible patriots bet we have locked in a win for week 2. currently sitting at $727.81 with $670 wagered. There are still $180 in wagers outstanding. Stale lines did not impact any picks in the first slate of games.

I would consider you a part-time Advantage Player who is limited due to other obligations such as family and children. You certainly seek value and understand Advantage Play conceptsand math well enough. You know somethings good when you see it. I actually think you probably make a good full time Advantage Player if that's something you had the time and willingness to do. I would certainly like to do business with you. I live both sides of the conversation. I like to blow money at a casino for recreation. I enjoy doing those things. But I love to AP them when I get the chance to. If I am doing any type of AP, I do not do anything at all for rec on the same visit. I separate them 100%. If I could AP full time or had more opportunities locally I would probably not do any of the recreation things, or at least much less often.
