That's good to know. I'm curious if the members who bet sports were aware of this?.
There was a reverse situation with NY OTB a few years back. My details are fuzzy but a horse won the Derby as part of "the field" and paid a couple of bucks, but NY didn't offer field betting so an individual bet on the horse paid about $80. Many casual bettors saw the race on tv and saw the house paid $6 or whatever and were stunned when they cashed tickets in.
Or it might have been the opposite way. I
just remember the horse paid one price at the track and a very different price at OTB. Usually, they paid the same, minus a surcharge.
Incredibly, NYC OTB lost so much money as an organization, it went out of business.

I mean, it’s William Hill. Should anyone be surprised?

I think any bet that is capped should have to say it on the ticket.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.
