If he was throwing 110MPH from 40 feet, you'd have to guess the pitch location and begin your swing before he released the ball.
As far as balks, they only come into play with a runner on base, which was a rare occurrence.

They have to start before the release even now, if they want to take a full swing and pull the ball. Otherwise it's just going to be an arm flick and it's hard to get the ball out of the infield that way.
A balk without a baserunner is a ball. And the spectators might not know why its a ball. The pitch went right over the plate but if the ump saw the pitcher yo-yo the ball in and out of his glove during the delivery, something undisciplined like that, he's calling it a ball because it was an illegal pitch.

Half the King's pitches wouldn't be tolerated in an MLB game, just like many Globetrotters' routines wouldn't fly in the NBA.
Baseball is, after all, a game and can be fun. If I recall correctly, there was a four or five women team that played a lot of bar league teams. I don't know if they were just NYC/Long Island or if they were national..

really interesting now - the NBA series
the Thunder lost a home game - they're down 2-1_________they were 10 point faves in the home game that they lost
so they now have to win a game in Indianapolis or they will lose the series
2 more games in Indianapolis - tonight and Thursday -
OKC is favored by 6 tonight - but that seems to mean little in this series

The Yankees won a nice pitching duel 1-0, scoring on a little league play, with the runner from second scoring on an infield ground out. After making the out at first, the throw to the plate beat the Yankee runner by a substantial amount, but the catcher couldn't hold the ball.
The Yankees gave Judge the night off, and he struck out in a pinch-hitting situation, as the Yankees swept KC on the road.
It's not yet June 15th and the Yankees have finished the Western portion of their schedule while yet gto play a game in Fenway.
