I feel like there was some insider information for race 1. I have no idea why your pick closed at 12-1... and performed as a 12-1 would. Like, I understand a horse under performing in a maiden, but the fact that the betting public supposedly knew about it doesn't make sense.

Anyone able to chime in? 4/20, Kee R1 the 4 horse opened at 3-1 and closed at 12-1. I didn't watch the race, maybe she was looking like crap?

Didn't get to watch or bet any races got tied up in a meeting. I will have to go back and watch the replay.

it looks like the track handicapper who made the morning line odds blundered

the horse hadn't run in 8.5 months
the horse is 5 years old.
a 5 year old maiden? pretty hopeless
the horse has never finished better than 3rd
and that was 2.5 years ago
she was dropping from maiden special into maiden claiming which sometimes means something good
but not in this case. this horse was way too hopeless

horse ran like they had had him run a race about 30 minutes before time to go o the paddock. Never showed anything. He looked like maybe he had to check a little at the break but that has nothing to do with him running that bad. Glad I was tied up would have bet more on my top pick at 12-1

You make a lot of valid points, I definitely agree she didn't deserve to go off at 3-1, but it's not like the field was very talented. She competed well enough while off the claim and a decent jockey decided that she was worth the ride. I'm still not seeing 12-1. I probably would have taken $10-20 at 10-1 if I were paying attention.

Good underdog play.

Let me restate it. Good underdog play, but the kind of underdog that either wins/competes or loses horribly (aka maidens). It was the latter this time.
