Those old enough, you know how in the 70s, somebody would advertise "official drink.of the NFL". Then by the 80's, a qualifier: "official soft drink of the NFL" . Ever more specific as they picked up sponsors.

Just saw an ad for Microsoft Surface.

"Official sideline replay technology of the NFL".

Isn't that slicing the cheese just s bit fine?

Two things:

1) bring back 'great taste, less filling'

2) I want to know why only PapaJohns, as the official pizza, sales when down due to NFL "issues" -- oh wait, maybe because the pizza is just dreadful.

Damn, if the Vikings had kicked the Point After Attempt at the end of that crazy game, rather than taken a knee, I would be only one point out of 1st place.

Ha! You should be happy the that crazy game ended as it did, with a push. :) I had already entered the Saints as the winner a minute or two earlier. I can't believe they gave up that TD in that manner.

LOL! I must have stopped watching at 35-7 and until now thought that was final score! Next thing I know you are going to try and tell me Vikings scored on last play of game and expect me to believe that too! By the way, notice who had by far the worst showing week 2? And if I was allowed to make a best bet it would have been the under on the Pitt/Jax game....

Thank you. I appreciate that. I've used this spreadsheet and this format for the past couple of years now. It seems to work okay. As you might suspect, it's pretty much all formulas. The colors and the points are calculated automatically, so my work is minimal.

I think contestants' picks were, on average, better ATS than on OVER/UNDER.

My original point was that I expect that in this round that many contestants will make identical picks ATS for the 2 games, but that the picks on Total Points will be all over the place -and that Total Points fundamentally has greater variance than "Margin of Victory."

But, I admit that it does add more variance into picking ATS when the flippety-flop Patriots list Brady as questionable and won't disclose any information about Brady's hand injury.

2.) Will an equal or lesser number of points be scored in the second quarter as in the fourth quarter?

3.) Will the team that calls the toss be correct?

4.) Will the Patriots score first by way of Touchdown (either defense, offense or ST) or Field Goal? (Eagles scoring first OR Patriots scoring on a Safety would be a, 'No,' for this question)

5.) Will Tom Brady throw for at least 50 more yards than Nick Foles?

6.) Will Tom Brady run a QB sneak at least once this game on 2nd&1, 2nd&2, 3rd&1, 3rd&2, 4th&1 or 4th&2?

Please look over your stats to verify my scoring, if you wish. I'm going to give this a couple of days for everyone to see it before I declare these results official and make my congratulatory post.

Here are the questions and answers, by the way:

1.) Will an equal or lesser number of points be scored in the third quarter as in the first quarter?

---No. 21 Points were scored in the third quarter and 12 in the first quarter.

2.) Will an equal or lesser number of points be scored in the second quarter as in the fourth quarter?

---No. 22 Points were scored in the second quarter compared to 19 in the fourth quarter.

3.) Will the team that calls the toss be correct?

---Yes. The Patriots called it and won.

4.) Will the Patriots score first by way of Touchdown (either defense, offense or ST) or Field Goal? (Eagles scoring first OR Patriots scoring on a Safety would be a, 'No,' for this question)

---No, the Eagles scored first by FG.

5.) Will Tom Brady throw for at least 50 more yards than Nick Foles?

---Yes, Brady threw for 505 and Foles 373.

6.) Will Tom Brady run a QB sneak at least once this game on 2nd&1, 2nd&2, 3rd&1, 3rd&2, 4th&1 or 4th&2?

---No. Brady had only one rush in the game, and it was for six yards on 1st & 10.

7.) If we multiply the points scored in the fourth quarter by three and then subtract two, will that result be MORE points than was scored in the first three quarters combined?

---No. The question was MORE points. (19*3)-2 = 55 and there were 55 combined points in the first three quarters.

8.) Will at least one two-point conversion be attempted in this game?

---Yes. There were two attempted.

9.) If overtime DOES NOT count, will 24 or more points be scored in the second half?

---Yes. 40 Points were scored in the 2nd half.

10.) Will there be a failed 4th Down Conversion attempt in this game?

---Yes. New England went for it on 4th and failed early in the second quarter.

Maybe it affects the bottom of the board, you have graded #3 wrong.

The Eagles called tails, and it landed heads. AFC was home team, so didn't call the toss.

At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.
