Whenever anyone posts indicating they like the martingale knowledgeable bettors will quickly and rightfully shoot down that idea. But a parlay is an acceptable strategy to a great many sports bettors. So for example in a 3 team parlay against a typical spread, (I'm not talking about teasers, that's totally different), unless it is a correlated parlay of for some reason the parlay as a whole is calculated (and this is pretty rare) so that it has greater percentage value than the individual bets, the parlay has no real value at all. It only has a value to a bettor if because of personal preferences he would rather get a few large payouts than more numerous smaller payouts. In reality, a parlay is a reverse martingale stopping out at the number of parlayed teams.
