That's the moneyline for today's match on betonline.ag at 7pm at the U.S. open. $500 gets you half a mill. Not bad for a couple of clicks. Not likely to reward dog lovers. But who knows. They get a giant score every once in a while. The challenger is unranked Roberta Vinci.

She has no chance. Which is kind of what those odds are saying . . . ;)

I am a little surprised with the odds, maybe they are playing at the indoor court or the heat is breaking, but with the heat over the last few days, a surprised case of leg cramps could give you a big payday.

I would bet $5 on it if it was offered locally. Injuries and sickness happen.

Actually, Vinci is ranked #43. It is the semi-finals, so it's not like she just showed up from nowhere.

However, she did advance with a win by forfeit, she has never won a major semi-final, and has lost to Serena the four times they played previously.

Cinderella story...

1000 to 1 is a great bet. Pinnacle has these lines:

Serena -2000
Vinci +1503

You could easily arb that.

Is anybody watching? Anybody have action on Vinci?

That 1,000-1 is looking really good right now...

And it's over. Vinci takes it.

Probably the biggest upset in sports since Douglas-Tyson. I'd feel very happy if I were a bettor with a 1,000-1 payout.

Thanks for the heads up on the bet, guys. I hope somebody bet it. (I didn't).

That 1000-1 wasn't true odds if Pinnacle had it at 15-1. The original poster might have misunderstood and thought the line like Wizard posted of +1500 was 1500-1 instead of 15-1.

Yeah, you're right. The OP was completely off. And here I was thinking if I had bet $500 I'd have half a mill.

ESPN was reporting Betfair paid off at 64-1, but they only knew of 1 guy with $10 on it.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

The way odds are expressed in the US is confusing, don't worry about it. We're all here to learn.

Did you bet it?

You're forgiven.

They said on the CBS news that Vinci was a 300 to 1 underdog but the market was more like 17.5 to 1.

Wish I had caught the game.

Not sure if this was said already, but she was 300-1 to win the entire tournament prior to it beginning. Maybe that's where these media outlets are getting that figure.
That bet would still be live but not a winner yet

What's the over/under on how many people are trying to sell their tickets to the final? CNN reported about an hour after the match that tickets had dropped from around $300 to around $75.
