If anyone wants to watch a horse race they have never seen before, then check out the 7th at Canterbury today. 20 horses racing - 12 on the turf, 8 on dirt - AT THE SAME TIME. The dirt horses are going 1 mile, the turf horses are going 1 1/16 miles. How to bet this race - no idea. But it'll sure be fun to watch.

I feel extremely bad for the race caller.

Yikes, and egads. Never have even looked at Canterbury, but will probably watch this insanity. Better than holding "wiener-dog race" promotions. I think.

I'll take one from column A: Threefiftysevenmag...
and one from column B: Setnmupknocknmdown...

...just to cause maximum torment for the dude with the microphone up in the booth trying to spit out everything.

I thought Canterbury was probably a bullring? Guess not, if they have a turf course.
Suck dope, watch TV, make up stuff, be somebody on the internet.

They're doing wiener dog races today too. And camels, ostriches and zebras. But you can't bet on those.

I was in Vegas about ten years ago at a race book and another track (maybe Tampa Bay Downs...nut sure) did something similar. They had a mile dirt race and amile turf race go off at the same time, maybe 8 horses each. IIRC, the dirt horses were even #'s and turf were odd #'s. The turf course was faster than the dirt course and the top four finishers were all on the turf course.

Awww shucks, my attention got diverted into other races in other places, and I missed the whole zoo. I trust they were able to keep the contestants from eating each other in front of the kids while trying to herd the safari in the general direction of a finish line. I'd be a bit richer tonight if I'd just settled in to watch the ostriches do whatever it is that ostriches do.
