Good afternoon.
Went online this morning to get the Mayweather vs Alveraz(sp) September boxing line. (Mayweather - 250)
In the search was a result indicating there was a "rumor" Floyd had bet 5.9 million USD on the Heat at - 7. As mentioned elsewhere, he does bet sports but this was a large amount(if true) even for him.
My inquiry or curioustity is would such a wager be accepted without the line moving? In other words, even for a regular large better, 5.9million USD? Would that move a line in Las Vegas on an NBA Playoff Game?
Thank you in advance. If you have seen anything on this please advise i.e. his twitter stuff etc..
ps:In case you didn't know/care...
After years of conference finals surprises, the favorites won out. The Miami Heat defeated the Indiana Pacers 99-76 in a one-sided Game 7 victory on Monday night, earning the chance to face their Western counterparts from San Antonio in the NBA Finals.

I don't think they'd accept it. And is moving the line going to even help them? If they make it Heat -11 after that they might end up paying both.

I'm not sure getting middled (a spelling error but what it's called) as you outline above is a small part of the decisions. However, there must be some way to get money on the Pacers to lay off such a wager, even a One Million Dollar wager must be laid off one would think?

There would have been line movement and sports bettors on twitter estimated he would need to visit 35 sportsbook to get that much money down. His "ticket" was floating around on twitter, but it was clearly a photo shop. The ticket was from Sunset Station and the amount ended at .36 while all Stations payouts end on the .00 or .05. Also, I don't think there is any way Stations would take a $5.9 million bet!!

There is absolutely no chance he bet that amount at any one casino in Las Vegas.
He may have been able to spread it around town and bet it on the money line where the casino's exposure was only 1.5 million but even that is unlikely.

At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

The sports talk radio I've been listening too all day keeps insisting Merriweather "won" 5.9 million on the Heat game. I'd have to agree with DRich no way one property would take that much action on a single wager. Don't most sports books cap single wagers at about 50-100K?

Mayweather bets more than 100K, but there's a big difference between 100K and 5.9 mil. The casino will simply not take that much on an NBA game. If it was the Superbowl, I guess there's a chance.

My source told me Mayweather actually won $10 million, but who's counting.

Ain't photo-shop great ?
Shed not for her
the bitter tear
Nor give the heart
to vain regret
Tis but the casket
that lies here,
The gem that filled it
Sparkles yet
