Quote: thecesspitBoDog doesn't have MoneyLine up for two of the four weekend NFL games. Anyone know why that would be so?
Are they "pick 'ems", with no points to give or take?
Some sites keep outdated or mislabeled links past their due date. The problem with some websites is to think stupid in order to figure them out (lots of practice with some government sites)
The other two games do have money lines (Denver -480, New England -480). I was gonna parlay Denver, NE, Seattle and Green Bay as one four team-er. I might have to take the points instead. Still pays a win of $3.74 for every $1 stake.
these are the money lines I would be using:
BAL +350
DEN -450
GB +125
SF -145
SEA +120
ATL -140
HOU +350
NE -450
Quote: steeldcoJust for the record, I think the Denver team's nickname is spelled "overrated"! I believe that they are "probably" losing straight up this weekend, but certainly not covering.
If this don't make Denver a lead pipe cinch, nothing will ! ! !

What line would you give for Denver then? Or want for Baltimore?
I'm not entirely sure that I understand your question.....please bear with me. If you are asking me what I think the line should be, then I believe that Denver is no more than a 3 point favorite by virtue of their being at home.

I'm asking you want your moneyline would be for the game. I assume your betting on the Ravens ML at +350?

I do like the Ravens at +350. Yes. I think it's great value.

I am confused by you saying the line should be Denver -3. That implies you think Denver would probably win. But you said earlier that Baltimore will probably win....
Quote: steeldcoFinsRule, I have to respectively disagree with you. I do not think that Denver by 3 is crazy, unless you do indeed take into consideration the public's affection for them. I happen to also think that New England will not cover. If Denver and New England do win then I think it will be by small margins. I certainly would not play either one of them using the money line. I'd take the dogs.
Didn't Denver annihilate Baltimore earlier in the year?
However, with the 10 points that I've seen, I would jump on Baltimore if I actually did bet on games. It is supposed to be 17 degrees at gametime, a great equalizer.
So now you have it... SOOPOO and steeldco agreeing wholeheartedly on a game.... I see the Wiz dashing to the sportsbooks with cash in hand yelling """""DENVER""""".....

Sorry. Don't mean to be confusing. My belief is that Denver, by virtue of their having a home field advantage, SHOULD be a 3 point favorite. I believe that they have had a relatively soft schedule and the public has fallen in love with them. Thereby causing the line to be exagerrated. Since I perceive Baltimore to be even with Denver in terms of talent, then I would be taking the Ravens on the moneyline at +350.
I do agree that -10 DEN is a long reach. Not sure where I'd put it, but I do expect Denver to win.
I wouldn't make a bridge jumper on that money line, except I'm parlaying the expected winners on the NFL pool.
Quote: thecesspitBut that still reflects you think it's Denver that would at -3. i was trying to work out what you would think is a fair line (Baltimore -1?) where you'd see no advantage to either side of the bet.

Let me try to re-state.....I love Baltimore getting the 9 or 10. Absolutely love! For even money. However, Baltimore at +350 is also of value. Baltimore and the points is most likely to provide a winner. Baltimore getting +350 on the moneyline may not win but has a much greater return if it does.
I thought you were saying Baltimore would be straight up winner.
Quote: MakingBookI still have access to my old line service. If I were still booking bets,
these are the money lines I would be using:
BAL +350
DEN -450
GB +125
SF -145

Bodog finally have lines up for the two NFC games :
GB +115

Quote: steeldcoBTW......after all of this stuff on luvin' Baltimore.....is there such a thing as "running at the mouth remorse"?
It would seem not, hope you made out like a bandit today. I thought the Broncos would lose when they took it to overtime, with 30 seconds and two time outs left.
Quote: steeldcothecesspit, sorry for your loss. I certainly wish you better luck next time.
Haha, you can probably fade me now on HOU and ATL. It's all good, I am never surprised to lose a bet, not in the NFL playoffs.

John Fox is a F------ p----, there I said it. I cannot effing believe the decisions he made at the end of BOTH halves in that game. THE POINT OF THE GAME IS TO WIN. TO WIN YOU HAVE TO SCORE POINTS. YOU DON'T SCORE POINTS BY WALKING TO THE LOCKER ROOM, OR TAKING A KNEE.
There's plenty of blame to go around in Denver's loss, but I could not believe those 2 decisions. You have PFM, one of the all-time greats, and great receivers, why not take a couple shots downfield, try to score a TD or at least get in position for a FG? It was obviously going to be a close game, points were precious. 3 more of them would have won it outright.
I'm at peace with the NFL season now, but I was throwing shit around my living room on Saturday.

Here is some very analytical, um, analysis on the risk-averse decisions Fox made Saturday. If you run the numbers, he made quite a few "wrong" decisions, although it's all subjective given the context. On several of them, it was closer to even than I thought it would be (making him less "wrong" than I thought he was). Anyway, I'm still pissed.
Quote: steeldcoWell, I went from feeling like a genius on Saturday, to feeling like a complete dumbass on Sunday. I have no qualms about the New England game. I was dead wrong on the Texans' abilities. That friggin Atlanta game though............
This coming weekend I believe that both dogs win. Atlanta vs. Baltimore Super Bowl. Certainly, no worse than a split. Now back to the booze......

It looks like a split. A net gain. However, it really should have been a sweep by the dogs. Atlanta again screwed the pooch. Absolute choke artists who do not know how to put away an opponent. I never had a problem with their coaching......until now. I think that their propensity to choke is attributable to the coaching. They need to make a change while the talent is still there.
