Greetings!
*****This is the official WOV Picks Game Thread. The purpose of this thread is to provide easy access to both the Lines (Starting Week 2 in this Thread) as well as the Results and Standings from previous weeks. It is for that reason that I respectfully request that nobody other than myself post in this thread. I thank everyone in advance for their kind cooperation, and offer my apologies to anyone whose attention was temporarily diverted from other threads by this thread if they are not participating in the game.
If you wish to talk smack, otherwise discuss the game, or become a Week 2 entry, this is the appropriate thread:

1.) First and foremost, I would like to thank all of our Week 1 participants and those who choose to participate in Week 2. I did plan in advance for my PM campaign to get players, (Well, not that far in advance given that I just thought of this idea---inspired by S2DBaker---on Friday) but I knew I would do it. In any event, I expected that we would have somewhere between 8-12 players, and we should have nearly twenty. I personally think that it is fantastic that a group of diverse people from diverse locations who (generally) barely know one another can come together with this sort of camraderie and have a friendly game. I can only hope that the rest of this season will be as mutually enjoyable for all of us as has been Week 1.
2.) I apologize if you did not receive a PM invite from me. The criteria for receiving a PM invite was as follows:
A.) You must have been logged in on Friday.
B.) You must have 100 posts.
or
C.) You could have less than 100 posts, but must average 10 posts per month.
***If these criteria describe you and I did not send a PM, I apologize. The only automated part was who was logged in Friday, aside from that, I had to check the screen names individually for post-count. It was a mindless procedure in which I put my brain and body on, "Auto-Pilot," so a mistake may have been made. I also apologize if you received two PM's or if you received a PM after already committing to the game.
3.) I have found it very easy and time saving to keep a running count going comprised of the end of the first set of Sunday games, second set of Sunday games and last Sunday game. This will have the positive affect of result/standings being posted within hours of the Monday Night Football game being completed, most weeks.
4.) I will generally try to send you a PM about 12 hours before the deadline to remind you to make your picks, however, this is not a guarantee. I will not send you a PM if you have already missed two weeks as you have forfeited at that time. I cannot stress enough not to rely solely on my PM's, Saturday is often a busy night for me, so it is possible that I will fail to send them.

All of my good intentions about doing the research needed to make a serious effort to make good picks never materialized. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to pass on this. I'll put my head into the football season once it becomes playoff time but until then, I'm more interested in getting my Cameltoe Poker game online and working.

Woo Hoo 9-2 after 2 weeks. As I'm sure that a .818 winning % will be impossbible to maintain, I'd just like to take this opportunity to pat myself on the back. Ahhhh feels good. For the rest of you don't worry I'm sure to rip off some 1-4 weeks real soon. :)

Does anyone know where there is a listing of WHICH NFL games are on tv in the New York Area this sunday.
They normally list that in the newspaper on friday but sorta wanted to know now.....I mean I couldnt give 2 craps about whats on in texas.
The nfl site just says FOX....CBS....bla bla bla...they didnt say which games where.........the giants play tonight so i am GUESSING THE 4 pm est game here is probably going to be a team from their division probably Eagles - Cardnials but thats just a guess anyone know For Sure.

Thanks a bunch, it had all the info i wanted and more...Godforbid the NFL site had a searchable zip code for Games in your area.
Yup I figure it would be Eagles - Card.....the Houston - Denver game is gravy...i wish one of the NY teams would always play on a schedule other then 1pm - 4pm sunday because when they do those are the 2 games we get period (not counting sunday and monday night games)

I didn't, thanks for pointing that out to me!
I Edited the post where I had originally posted everyone's picks with the Wins/Losses, and I had quoted that post for the most recent post and copy/pasted the Standings after Week 2 to the bottom. I had the original thread (Edited) with everyone's picks in a seperate window and was going through and changing the Standings accordingly. I noticed the transposition of 4-1 for 1-4 in that post (and Edited it) but forgot to change it in the quoted post where I was doing the actual standings...lol

Greetings,
There are two individuals who made their Picks prior to the correction of the SF Line. Actually, there are more than two such individuals, however, only two took SF +4.5. One of these individuals is actually responsible for pointing out to me that the Line was wrong. The other individual originally made the pick a, "Confidence Pick," but agreed to keep the Line, but remove the CP after it was pointed out.
This decision is mine alone, as is the mistake, but my Mom always told me, "The early bird gets the Nine," thus I am letting these Picks STAND as anyone could have reasonably made the picks had they seen the Lines soon enough. In fact, the Lines had been up for slightly more than twelve hours by the time I was made aware of the mistake.
I apologize to everyone for this mistake. I will try not to do things so quickly next time. In the event that either of these two individuals win the contest, I will also cover $1.00 of every loss.
