Quote:I sincerely hope everyone enjoyed playing this game as much as I enjoyed being its Commissioner. I'm going to try to market the game a little bit earlier and more aggressively to our WoV community next year in the hopes that we can attract more players. Furthermore, if you guys have any friends/family that may not necessarily be into gambling, but that you think would enjoy a game such as this one, by all means have them participate next year. I fully expect that we will see 25 Players next year, but I'm hoping maybe for 50.
But Jamaal Charles is having a GREAT year. Over 1400 yards, averaging 5'6 yards per carry, 3 runs over 80 yards. Nobody has ever had 4 in a season. Plus he has had 2 200 yard games this season. He is on a bad team, but 16 points just seems way too much ! ! !
The Chiefs held a second-half lead on Nov. 25 before Peyton Manning led a pair of long second-half scoring drives to give the Broncos a 17-9 victory.
Denver ranks second in the NFL in scoring (29.5 points per game), but has only totaled 43 points in its last four games against Kansas City.
how can i join sir?
Quote: BuzzardAnybody like the Broncos in this game ?
No, if I were picking this week, I agree with you about KC +16.
Quote: Mission146No, if I were picking this week, I agree with you about KC +16.
Damn, now I am worried !

You don't really have to do anything except request to join as we get ready to start next season. I intend to start setting everything up for next year in early August, so keep an eye out for the thread. I also know to automatically remind everyone who played this year, so I'll add you to that list.
Quote: MidwestAPMission - I think there are three missing games in the official thread (TB@ATL, CLE@PIT, and OAK@SD). Do you have lines for these games?
They may not have been on Yahoo! on Thursday, let me check for them now:
Today's Odds, but if you want to play them:
TB +4.5 @ ATL -4.5 O/U 45.5
CLE @ PIT---Still no Lines, perhaps little to no action?
Oak +10 @ SD -10 O/U 39
This Line source sucks, I can't wait until we change it next year...

Thanks for a great season to everyone who played! This game has been terrific fun for me to manage, I hope everyone plays again next year!

I'm a bit pressed for time today, so I am going to be sending out all of the PM's tomorrow with The Wizard's address and PayPal information along with the above Links.
We were at 665-603 for .524 and we went 32-27 for .542 (Finally!) for the final week. This brings us to a final record of 697-630 for .525 for the season. I wouldn't lose any sleep over that!
Great season, everyone, and I hope everybody decides to play next year!
Quote:2.) If you finish with a record of .601 or better and are not the winner, you will pay the lesser of $5.00 OR $1.00 for every pick you were away from having the winner(s) winning percentage.
Vendman1 only owes $5.

Sir yes sir i will keep an eye on the thread xD
this forum is the best even the new ones can join the thread with the reminders of admin have a nice day sir :D
and happy new year
That's also correct, if anyone posts in this thread indicating a desire to play next year, then that individual will be added to the list and will receive a PM from me.
I agree with you for next year. We will still allow for one skip week, which could also be strategically saved...provided that Wizard doesn't straight blow everyone out of the water again...but any missed Weeks beyond that will result in the player's choice of dropping out or eating an 0-5 record for that week.
Quote: MissionMike,
For the season, you went 62-25 for .713.
You made your first Confidence Pick in Week 5 and made eight total going 7-1 for .875
If the Confidence Picks only counted as one game, then you would have went 55-24 for .696.
It makes little difference in your overall record, though you do fall below .700 in that scenario.
The probability of getting 55 or more in 79 picks is 1 in 3128.
What would 43-35 (43 or more out of 78) for .551 be? I didn't make any CP's in the first place.
I suppose I should also mention that you actually made 80 Picks, just one was a No Decision. I'd have mentioned that in the PM if I had known this is what you were determining. Oh, and I actually made 80 Picks with 2 No Decisions.
Good work!Quote: WizardI asked Mission what my record would have been without the Confidence Pick rule.
How did you determine your confidence picks?
Quote: BeardgoatI'd like to play next year. Unfortunately I was out of town in new orleans for 2 weeks and completely forgot to submit my picks around week 4. Seeing that I didn't enter the league until week 2 I was already done!! Oh well. Might I suggest that it be an option next year to take an 0-5 for a missed week? I would have continued to make picks in future weeks if so
I didn't know until after the game was over that a "contingency" pick option was available (The Wizard left instructions to, "just pick the first five underdogs" if his picks weren't in by the deadline).
Will the "contingency" be available and advertised to everyone next time?

I don't know whether I will specifically advertise it, as The Wizard approached me about the matter, but I would have said yes to anyone. Basically, all he was doing was making his picks ahead of time and reserving the right to change them before the deadline. There were a number of people who would make Picks and change something before the deadline, so that was completely fine.
