You asked for examples so it should be expected I would know about the public ones.
Quote: MathExtremistMGM may be willing to part with the par sheet because the manufacturer is defunct and they'll take it away as soon as it hits.
The manufacturer isn't quite defunct. It's an IGT S+ machine (there are still a number of them in operation in downtown Las Vegas). The kit was created by Mikohn Gaming which eventually got bought out by IGT, and IGT is very much still in business.
Quote: WizardAxiom is more confident about the 256 virtual stops than I am. I have a box full of par sheets and the total number of stops seems pretty arbitrary. Then again, most are by IGT, so I'm mostly getting a sense of their style. Lion's Share is my Mikohn, who I didn't even know ever made slots, until I saw this game.
In Axiom's defense, choosing random numbers from an even power of 2 was more of a programming style back when that game was made in 95 than it is now.
While I respect Axiom's opinion a great deal, and I'm not saying he is wrong, but I'm not so convinced Lion's Share is on a 256-stop reel map.
The S+ was capable of up to 512 reel stops, which I believe was introduced to the S+ in part to support the Megabucks WAP games.
Quote: mickeycrimmThe OP's picture shows the meter at 2.274 million. If the meter started at 1 million then 1.74 million has gone into the meter. With a 0.75% meter that would be about a $170,000,000 wager. At $3 a spin that would be about 57 million spins. But the problem is I don't think the amount of shortcoining can be quantified.
It wouldn't matter if non-max plays don't feed the meter. I'm not sure how that particular game works -- if someone puts in $2, does 1.5c go to the meter?

I would suspect that the short coin bets do not increment the progressive. In Montana, where Mickey lives, it is common for all bets to increment the progressive.

My experience in Nevada is that most progressives are incremented by all coin in.

It's also common in Nevada. I love those banks of quick hits where everyone is short-coining.
Quote: CrystalMathI would suspect that the short coin bets do not increment the progressive.
DRich and AxiomOfChoice are correct. On an S+ machine, the progressive meter is pulsed by every coin in, even if it's not a max bet. Short-coin wagers on the Lion's Share machine do increase the progressive.

Good point. One lion is good for a minimum $3 profit.

id prefer a good car and fast scotch.
Because they all increment the progressive, there is no way to tell how many progressive eligible spins there have been.

He has a few other videos of him playing it one of which its pretty recent.
The earliest youtube video of Lions Share is Dec 2011, and the meter was at $2,252,000. The latest video is Jan. 2014, and the meter is at $2,338,000. That's $86,000 of meter rise in three years and one month.
It's a 0.75% meter so 86,000 X 133.3333 means the machine has had about $11,500,000 in action for the past 37 months.
If all the spins were at max bet that would be about 3,800,000 spins.
Quote: coilmanSo what's the STANDARD TIP on a $2.3 million dollar win?
If you hit a $20,000 royal in video poker the "standard tip" (if there is such a thing) is $100, which is one-half of one percent.
On a $2.3-million dollar jackpot one-half of one percent is $11,500. I think that is reasonable... but I would break it up $10,000 for the slot floor people who paid you, another $500 to the cocktail waitress who kept you hydrated, $1,000 to the cage people.

How do you get a refund?
I went to MGM Grand on Sunday, Super Bowl Sunday, expecting I would have to wait to play the Lions Share. Someone was playing it, but there was no line. She had put in $20, cashed out for $161.
I played for about 1/2 an hour, put in $200 and cashed out for $200. Noone was waiting to play after me.

Yeah wow quoting the forum out of context. I always thought these gambling writers just steal from the forums and make up quotes covering their real sources.
