Greetings!

I decided it might be interesting to have a series of articles in which I review gambling games found in other forms of media.

I plan to do this about once per month and would also like suggestions if anyone has an idea for different gambling games I should try.

For the first of these reviews, I decided to do Caesars Palace (1993) for the Sega Genesis. This particular game was my introduction to several casino games (keep in mind that I was a preteen at this time).

Anyway, please consider reading and enjoy! If you have any comments or suggestions, then please feel free to post them either in this thread OR the comments section of the article itself.

Also, are there any gambling-related games that you have enjoyed, or better still, that you think positively sucked?

Concerning video games and simulated gambling
The only games that I found fun and interesting were horse racing simulators
It was a long time ago but I enjoyed it
You bought then trained your horses
Picked a jockey looking at stats
Looked for races to enter your horse
Bet on your horse and watch the race
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

That's pretty neat, you wouldn't happen to remember what it was called, would you?

Here's another retro games review, this time Vegas Stakes for the Super Nintendo:

https://wizardofvegas.com/articles/vegas-stakes-snes-review/

The main things that differentiated this game from Caesars Palace are, in my opinion, better controls and (too) frequent NPC interactions that were over-the-top, but helped to break the monotony of what would otherwise just be a vessel for playing casino games with fake money.

If you like, please check out the full review for more details! Feel free to drop your thoughts either in this thread, or in the Comments section of the article.

I'll again recommend "World Series of Poker" by Masque for Windows OS (3.1, XP, Vista) that came on CD-ROM.

It has a few good Easter Eggs, including some poker tutorials that you can get by exploring the game. Some of the things you can discover are cheesy, but fun if you enjoy cheap humor.
