Hi all,

could please somebody help me with this mathematical exercise?
One of local UK casinos introduced Three Card Poker with Pair Plus and Prime bonus games.

BUT: Casino does not require Ante to be posted to get a hand, so you can bet just Pair Plus and Prime at the same time with no Ante and you get a hand.

Can somebody please try to calculate the house edge when betting just Pair Plus and Prime?

Pair Plus Odds: (yes they have swapped Three of a kind with StraightFlush)
Three of a kind 35
Straight flush 33
Straight 6
Flush 4
Pair 1

Prime odds:
Player+dealer cards all in black/red 4
Player cards in black/red 3

Thank you for your help, I know that solo house edges on Pair and Prime are 2.66% and 3.62%, but does the missing Ante make any change in the long run?

Feel free to check my math, but this is what I get for the Pair Plus bet for that paytable (2.66% HE):

HAND PAYOUT COMB PROB RETURN
Straight Flush 33 48 0.002172 0.071676
Three of a Kind 35 52 0.002353 0.082355
Straight 6 720 0.032579 0.195474
Flush 4 1096 0.049593 0.198372
Pair 1 3744 0.169412 0.169412
All Other -1 16440 0.743891 -0.743891
Total 22100 1 -0.026602

I guess I can't post a link, but I found a page (google "Three Card Poker Prime bonus"-- 4th result) that reports the Prime Wager HE at 3.62%. I haven't verified it myself.

EDIT: oh, sorry. I missed your question about skipping the ante bet. But no-- skipping the ante/play bet doesn't change your odds on the PP or Prime bets (I think that's what you're asking). You'll lose less over time overall by not making another bet where the house has an edge-- but that goes for any casino table game.
