So recently I've built up a ton of cashback at a lot of casinos, and some have the option of using less points for comps, or bingo. I'm really a newbie at bingo (it seems pretty juicie tho) and can't figure out how to determine the real return on the game. Some places offer much more in bingo money then cash back so can you just assume if casino ABC offers .1% cash back its .3% if tthey give out 3x?

How volatile is the return? What if they offer double pay days on certain bingos, can you double the bingo bucks you bought? Say I can get casino ABC to give me $120 bingo money would it be worth $240, or am I missing something here?

Walking into a bingo room reminds me of the scene in 2 and a half men where charlie goes to a seniors bar and he is the youngest person there by at least 20 years.

Before one is able to analyze the return on Bingo to the player, one must be able to analyze the return on Bingo to the Casino.

Most casinos "spread" Bingo on "ODD" hours...therefore the return to the casino is defined as "Whatever Happens During "EVEN" hours".

If all the little old ladies swarm FROM Bingo cards to Slot Machines on the EVEN hours, the hold on those slot machines is the hold of the Bingo Room.

ALL that a Casino offers to Bingo Players is an inducement for the EVEN hours: Check cashing, Rx filling, pastries and coffee, Orange juice with booze in it, ... everything is offered to "The Blueies" for what happens in the EVEN hours. (A "blue" in Australia is a man with red hair, but a "blue" in Vegas is a little old lady with blue hair because it looks better than gray hair under flourescent lights and cigarette smoke.)

Year in, year out these little old ladies play at about a PLUS ONE PERCENT PLAYER EDGE...which sometimes fluctuates all the way to being a minus one percent player edge. So Bingo is pretty much a loss-leader "wash" to the casino.

There are Bingo Room Specials to earn and retain loyalty and keep people from running next door for a better deal. So Bingo Progressive Jackpots or something can both enhance the winner's pocketbook but also perhaps everyone in the room that hour.

Read the fine print. I think its Ellis Island that offers FREE bingo at 9:00am, but its only ONE free paper card.

This is why you can shop for "an edge" in Bingo by looking at the weather reports: cold wet windy mornings may be ill attended at certain places since the players will miss that first bus from the retirement home. The three o'clock in the morning game at Arizona Charlie's is often a goal for drunken craps dealers who seek "an edge" as well as an outlet for their frustrations.

The official hold ofa Bingo room is about a one percent loss, but the actual hold of a Bingo room is measured at the slot machines and buffets. So read teh fine print and good luck.

I might have to check out AC sometime at graveyard lol.

It seems like a good idea to play on a double/triple point day but if the crowd is 2x or 3x the normal amount I would be increasing my variance for equal payouts. I'm looking to lower my variance as much as possible in churning the points to cash. I'm still wondering about the return of the game. If I'm getting 3x bingo bucks for my cashback, is it worth triple, or triple*house edge? If this is the case, because of the variance involved will it be many games before an advantage is seen?

Does buying a lot of cards dilute the advantage? I really prefer not to play many games as time is money. Actually playing with an advantage is not really a factor, as much as getting value out of points is.

One of the reasons casinos give more in bingo money is that it doesn't cost them anything. They are going to pay out a certain amount per game so whether you win playing your points or whether I win playing cash money it doesn't matter to them.

The more cards you buy the better your chance of winning obviously. But it doesn't seem to matter. You just have to get lucky like anything else. I've had days with few players and me having lots of cards and I always get close but can't win. Then there are other days with lots of players and I have fewer cards and I win several times.

One problem with bingo is that you often have to split the payout between several winners. Depending on how many people are playing it could be 2 or even 40 winners.

Ever since I hit the Station's Jumbo Progressive I have been rather fond of Bingo progressives. :)

The best bet in Vegas is Southpoint's Dual Action which caps out at 35 called numbers.

Wizard has put together a most excellent set of pages on Bingo. Honestly if it hadn't been for these I probably never would have played as seriously as I did. Thanks Wizard!!!

Just played my 1st bingo session ever at the downtown Vegas plaza.
Just about everybody rents the tablets but I decided to go old school and use sheets and markers.
Huge mistake. You gotta be on top of things if going old school.
As soon as I'm done marking, next number is anounced, any hesitation and you are totally screwed.
Guy near me showed me the tablet, he just sits back and watches, tablet does all the work.
Thats my last bingo session ever, if I go back, its the tablet, paper is hard work.

I hate those stupid tablets. It completely levels the playing field. Before there were people that might only handle 6 cards where others have 40.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed. I AM NOT PART OF GWAE RADIO SHOW

Darned good lesson for us to have learned. Its good to know your limitations and not make things worse for yourself... you already have the house nibbling at your chances, you don't want to be doing it yourself.
