I've noticed that BetMgm has several slot variants for Slingo. Any idea what would be an optimal strategy for this game? Basically, you pay for a ticket and after a series of numbers are called. The more lines you connect, the more it pays. However, when you run out of numbers, you get an option to pay for more spins. However, the cost of the spin varies with the number of lines you have already completed and the level of the prizes you can win. You wind up paying up like crazy for more spins, but you may not recoup the prize level.
How the heck do you play this optimally????

I absolutely love Slingo. My go-to strategy is to only buy more numbers when I get 0-2 completed lines, but many numbers, when the base game ends. I've had the most luck with the Sweet Bonanza variant. Thing is... You sometimes have to rely on big multipliers to make a profit.
Difficult to tell which strategy is truly optimal, since it's so tremendously based on luck.

What should you do if you're close to hitting a higher payout level after completing a few lines. Is it worth paying the higher price for another roll or is it better to walk away?

I don't think it's worth it, in my experience. The ideal setup for pushing extra rolls is when you have a lot of numbers but few lines completed. I've found myself going overboard trying to hit two specific numbers that never came, trying to make it to the special rounds with the pick and win multiplier, only to see my bankroll absolutely drained.
