That said: Casino Royale usually has one table with a 5.00 minimum. I hear its a bit hectic though. I've been told Imperial Palace but I've never seen it. Same with Bills and O'Sheas (otherwise known as O'Shxxs) and CircusCircus/SlotsAFun.
If you go to the Bellagio or the Wynn and ask about a five dollar table, the pit boss will laugh uproariously for the rest of the night.
Quote: Miller11Anyone know of a Casino on the Strip that offers a $5 Craps Table? Is there a website that has this information?
Casino Royale for sure. Probably a good chance at Harrahs, Imperial Palace, Flamingo. Maybe TI, no clue how busy they are nowadays. Pretty much the lower end strip casinos and even then less chance the busier it is.

Last time I was in that area on a Thurs. afternoon, only the IP had $5 tables going. The other three properties were all $10. Apparently, $10 is the new $5.
Casino Royale would stay at $5 and be at $3 weekdays and weeknights, but could not tolerate the smoke for too long.
See this thread for more information on casinos further downstream.
And check outthough they don't offer when the minimums work.
I recall there was another site which provided more useful information as to when the minimums worked, but can't recall it now.

Been a few years to confirm but Slots-A-Fun/CC had them when I was last there. Better to take the Duece to Freemont St if you want cheap craps.
I could be wrong but I thought Slots 'O Fun went out of business.Quote: AZDuffmanBeen a few years to confirm but Slots-A-Fun/CC had them when I was last there. Better to take the Duece to Freemont St if you want cheap craps.

I think it's merged and rebranded as part of Circus-Circus now...
Well, there you go. ;)Quote: thecesspitI think it's merged and rebranded as part of Circus-Circus now...

For some reason Ceasars Corporation split Bally's and Paris into two separate licenses despite running them under one license for 8 years. MGM Resorts eliminated the license for Slots-A-Fun and run them under Circus circus. I am not sure of the reasoning for either decision.

I assume that running two casinos under one license saves money. It's easy for the casual observer to see Slots-O-Fun and Circus Circus as a single entity. Heck, they share a common driveway! Wynn and Encore are obvious candidates too.
But to a casual observer, it's very hard to connect O'Shea's to Flamingo.

Maybe there are rules which state when such an arrangement is allowed, and maybe the rules changed forcing Bally's and Paris to be separated.

Hi DJTeddyBear,
My first post, well here goes.... There have been rumors for several years that Harrahs was looking to spin off Caesars, possibly to MGM becaus they hated to cater to the Caesars High Roller clientle and if they unloaded them they would "toss in" Pairs to boot. Well, since Harrahs changed their Corporate name to Caesars, maybe the license change is they are still contemplating selling Paris.
Just my 2 cents worth.....
EagleDice
Of course, I kinda doubt that a technicality like splitting the license would put much of a roadblock up against any sale of a casino. Whatever.
Don't let it be your last. This is a forum after all Thanks for sharing

I'd make a guess you are right and it might also allow for easier sharing of "keyman employees" between properties. When I was last at SaF in 2006, premerger, I think they half-advertised they would take your CC cheques. Not sure if they did it the other way around.
I can confirm this. I was just playing craps at CC, and heard the pit boss telling a dealer about her assignment, and he told her "you are going to be at Slots-a-Fun tomorrow." So, they are basically run as one property now as far as personnel.Quote: AZDuffmanI'd make a guess you are right and it might also allow for easier sharing of "keyman employees" between properties. I understand you said the strip but if you can get the shuttle to Henderson then almost all the casinos out there offer $5 or lower. Might be worth the effort to save the money.
Quote: MineshaftI am almost certain stratosphere offers $5 craps.
It does, as of last week. So do the Riv and Circus Circus.

The gaming commission doesn't care as long as the properties are connected by a hallway. A high level official told me that the split between Bally's and Paris was at the corporate request, not at the request of the commission.
Wynn and Encore run under one license, Venetian and Palazzo run under one license, Mandalay Bay and THE Hotel run under one license, Flamingo and Oshea's run under one license.
In the extremely unlikely event that a casino is shut down for license violations, obviously both facilities must be shut down if they are under one license.
Mobile gaming devices may eventually obscure the meaning of the casino floor. I don't know what the effect will be on licenses. For instance, MGM Resorts may want to make a device operable if you are anywhere (hotel rooms, restaurants, spas, swimming pool, clubs and shopping) in the Excalibur/Luxor/Mandalay Bay complex.

I don't really mean to derail this thread, but I am interested in what this single/multiple license issue might mean in terms of my collecting souvenir $1 chips. (Note: once I have a chip from one casino, I don't feel a need for another unless/until the casino changes name, even if they start using different chips with the same name.)
My chips from Bally's and Paris are actually identical chips. Each side of a chip emphasizes one casino with an appropriate logo (Eiffel Tower or Jubilee showgirl) and with the name shown large, though with the name of the other casino presented in smaller type. In my display I have the two identical chips with different sides exposed. It seems that if the licenses were split, they would both need to use different chips (which don't mention a different casino), so they have probably changed chips by now. Can anyone confirm? I'll check it out next week when I am staying at Bally's.
On the other hand, my chips from Venetian and Palazzo are completely different, each making mention of only one casino even though they share a license. I guess this is OK, even if it seems a little unexpected -- different chips, same license. My chips from Flamingo and Oshea's are completely different, too.
But if that is the case for Venazzo and Flamingo/Oshea's, why can't Encore start using its own chips -- different from the Wynn -- so that I can add another casino to my collection???!!!
I don't think I have ever been to THE Hotel; does it have a separate casino from Mandalay Bay? Do they use the same or different chips?
It's my understanding that in September 2004 the name of the Las Vegas Club was officially changed to just "Vegas Club", and that's the way it is advertised as a VivaVision sponsor. Last time I checked (sometime in 2010) they were still using the same $1 chips I already have, with the full "Las Vegas Club" name. Doesn't it seem that a casino should be required to have its current name on its chips?
Are Harrah's and Harvey's in Tahoe one license, or two? There are separate Harrah's and Harvey's $1 chips but these are completely interchangeble during play. With larger chips you can buy in and cash out at each other's casinos but during play they prefer you use the chips of the casino you're in.
