Which is the better bet?

a) $18 place bet on 6 and $18 place bet on 8
b) $36 place bet on 6 (or 8)

Define ‘better’.

Two single bets reduces variance.

One double bet is much better if it hits and the other doesn’t, and much worse if it doesn’t hit and the other does.

One big bet if your goal is to make large amounts of money, spread is better for small amounts of money. You're probably better with the 1 large bet and take it down after 5 or so rolls than the two bets take down method.

How about which is better (profit) after 1,000 or 10,000 rolls?

After 1,000 or 10,000 rolls you will lose money. The house has an edge on every bet.

Assume we have a bankroll to survive 10,000 rolls, which would ruin faster?

I'm going to guess betting only on one number will lose faster.
