But I will say that all my experiences at Sands Bethleham has been absurdly crowded tables with high miniums.
Yeah, I’ve been going there about once each week, although I’m starting to shift my business to Resorts World in the Catskills.Quote: gamerfreakDjTeddyBear is probably the most qualified here to answer.
Yeah, that’s about right. You *might* find a $10 table early in the day, but don’t count on it. $15 tables are no problem although they might be tight. Then again they might be empty.Quote: TumblingBonesI only played there once about a year back. As I recall they had 6 tables: 4 at $15 minimum and 2 at $25 (that was on a Sunday afternoon). I didn't have any trouble finding a spot at one of the $15 tables. Plenty of room, of course, at the $25 tables.

I, for one, would be interested in hearing you take on Resort World. Haven't checked it out yet and wasn't sure if it was worth getting off the Thruway for when passing by. Not, however, suggesting ahijack of this thread but maybe an add-on to this one.

If you are in Bethlehem on Thursday and want to play some craps, send me a PM and maybe we and meet up.
I think Sheldon Adelson is already doing that... or at least he was but I heard he sold the place but let the buyers keep the name.Quote: WatchMeWinAnyone around Bethlehem Sands ready to make some money?

Fake news. Ownership change will be official by Q1 or Q2 2019. Name will then change to Wind Creek Casino Resort Bethlehem.*
*Pending regulatory approval.

Wind Creek? The people in Alabama?
Ugh. Or better yet, since someone is sure to claim I made an NA slur, yuck. Maybe PA gaming will overrule some of their uglier tendencies.

Yep, the Poarch Band of Creek Indians of Alabama. I too wonder if they will be open to the very controlled regulations of the Commonwealth. Factor in a 55% tax rate on slots and 16% on table games, when they are accustomed to paying nothing, they will try to get out of that some way using the Native American card. PA will hear nothing of that though, rest assured.
After all, they wouldn’t be the first tribe to take their casino profits and experience and try to run or own a commercial / non-NA casino.
Quote: DJTeddyBearI’m sure they knew all that before buying the Sands.

I am not disputing they didn't know about the tax rate, I am just saying it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't try to do something about it.
Edited: to source this Morning Call article where the three casinos they currently own enjoy tax free revenue.

I go to Sands often. What changes for the worse should I be expecting to see ?

If I speculated, I would almost surely be wrong. So I'll pass.
I went to Wind Creek briefly. Was so unimpressed looking at slot and table pay tables, I didn't drop a dime. Just got back in my car.
Otoh, PA has some of the strongest pro-player regulations anywhere, just from what you folks have said the last few years, so perhaps they just follow the model. Might just be looking to invest some of the insane profits they're making in Alabsma.

I think they will just follow the model as you said. Wind Creek has very limited table games experience, and Sands Bethlehem is state's leader for that. As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
I could see Wind Creek making the Bethlehem property the flagship of the company. LVS has looked at Sands Bethlehem as the smallest, least desirable property of their portfolio for quite some time - and have been trying to sell it off. A property of this magnitude could show how Wind Creek Hospitality wants to be taken seriously in the gaming world. Speculation, but just my opinion.
Just like in the movie Hoosiers, coach said that no matter where you play the basketball Rim is always 10 ft and the dimensions of the courts are all the same.
Walking around the Bethlehem steel plant was awesome! So much history. One good thing Trump is doing is bringing back American Steel.

Sands in Bethlehem officially became Wind Creek Casino yesterday. Going by the press releases it sounds like they have some big plans for expansion , doubling the size of the hotel, building a water park next door.
I’ll be curious to see if they get sports betting, and how player friendly the slots and table games will be
Quote: WatchMeWinIm heading up to the Bethlehem area this week and will probably stop in Sands. Does anyone here play there... do the craps tables stay crowded and how many tables do they normally have open?
i live right next to it and when you hear me speaking about blackjack its what im talking about
