I’m fairly new to craps, (3 months), and have 2 questions. Why do some players make a $40 pass line bet followed by $20 flat odds on the point ? Makes no sense to me.And what’s the advantage of not making a pass line bet, followed by a come bet once the point is established?

My limited experience isQuote: Goose007Why do some players make a $40 pass line bet followed by $20 flat odds on the point ?
they want to win that $40 bet on the comeout roll.
45% of pass line wins happen on the comeout roll, so it must add to the fun of playing and winning.
I think the best answer would be from those that bet that way.
they are identical bets so I see no advantage mathematicallyQuote: Goose007And what’s the advantage of not making a pass line bet, followed by a come bet once the point is established?
maybe it is more fun for some to not root with the shooter that made a pass line bet.
playing craps, in my opinion,
should be about having fun
winning is just icing on the cake
have fun

It’s hard to come up with good answers, but at least you’re asking good questions.
The only reasonable answer I can think of is that different people find fun in different stuff.
