Well, I have to face it. I am just not lucky when it comes to shooting craps. Some of the best decisions I made in Vagas a couple weeks back were to pass the dice. Sometimes I think when I’m the shooter, I should bet continuously on the Don’t Come line and take maximum odds…

Anyway I have to relate a couple anecdotes from this last trip, both while playing at New York New York on a $10 table.

1) Evening. The dice are going around fast, there are only three or four players at the table, I’m shooting and getting my usual poor results. We are all slowly being bled to death. There’s a guy standing to my left, about a foot back from the rail, watching. After about the fourth time around after I seven-out, he steps forward, plunks down $5 each on the “feature bet” (all Small, all Tall and Make’em all), $10 on the pass line and starts shooting. He then proceeds to make’em all !! Somewhere in there he makes a point and I collect on a 6 or an 8 Place bet or two, can’t remember for sure, but there were very, very few repeated numbers. I make maybe $35 on his roll, he makes over $1300, quickly rolls a 7 to end it, and then smiles and leaves the table. So tell me how the f**k does this guy know the time to step forward? I tell you it borders on time travel and record keeping, except he’s the one shooting! So how does he know? Please tell me before I lose my mind. Perhaps it’s telekinesis and he tries not to go crazy any one place for too long, else he’ll be banned from the casinos.

2) Last day of our trip, mid-afternoon. Trying to play conservative, just stay in the game and not lose too much, too fast. By now I know my shooting is complete sh*t, so I pass the dice to the guy to my left. He also bets $5 on the feature (all three), but he’s also got a $25 Buy bet on the 4 and 10. Plus he’s got big Place bets on all the other box numbers. Each time the 4 or 10 hits, he raises the bet by double. So it hits once, he collects a bit less than $50 and raises its bet to $50. So after one time he’s almost even on that bet. The next time he collects almost $100 and raises the bet to $100. You get the picture. This guy hits so many 4s and 10s that both end up with at least $400 on them! He doesn’t make the feature, missing a 3 and an 11 by the time he sevens out. Still, it was a long run with lots of repeats, so even a conservative bettor like me makes about $120 during his roll. So I wait until the dice come around again. As usual after a roll like that, there are a lot more folks at the table. But it doesn’t take too long as everyone else there are just mere mortal human beings and so as soon as the dice come to me, I pass them. The guy makes the same bets, and proceeds to do exactly the same thing again! This time he makes the feature bet too! I leave with $215, he left with probably $5000. I asked him if he always shot like that and to my relief he says: “No”. “Good,” I said, “otherwise I’d have to follow you everywhere you went.”

In my last two trips to Vegas, I have seen that feature bet – in its entirety – made by somebody at least 7 times. And either the Small or the Tall made a couple times as well. At the Excalibur in April, I saw this lady make it twice in either three or four successive attempts. Went back the next day, saw her there, and watched her make it again! I’ve never been on it when it was made. Not even for a stinkin’ dollar each. Disgusting! I guess I just need to bet it more often. I know it's a terrible bet but I have to admit it's a fun one.

Well my story goes way back in the 80's of binions. Back then when the limits were cheaper I usually did a dice set of 7 on the belief that after a roll what are the chances after a few bounces it would land on a 7 again. Anyways there were times after one go-around. Could get all the shooters to pass the dice back to me.
Well one time when the dice came back to me somebody put what looked like a skyscraper of green on the hard six and eight it must have been a five inch stack I hit those numbers three times on my roll and don't know if the guy was pressing his bet but on the last time they had to pay this guy in yellow chips. The guy was a good tipper he tipped me $150 during that roll

1 in 36 to land back on the exact combination as you started with. :^)
It's my set too, it allows you to only shot against 5 sevens instead of 6 sevens, 35 out of 36 times....
