Just got back from the casino, and I saw something incredible. 100X odds is a gimmick. Usually I see people put down a $15 passline bet and they put down $15 worth of odds. There are a few guys that will do 10X odds and if the shooter is hot they will press it up.

Anyways tonight there was a guy that would bet $100 on the don't pass and then on 6 & 8 he would lay $12,000. He would lay $15,000 on 5 & 9 and he would lay $20,000 on 4 & 10. He was there for several hours and he must have lost 5 bets the entire night! I was told he took the casino for $250,000. It was just incredible to see him lay $20,000 on the 10 and then they'd go out and he'd make 10 grand.

He was often times putting down a $100 big red bet for the dealers so the dealers would get $500 and down when it would hit. If you looked at their chip bucket there was tons of black chips in there. He was also throwing $100 chips and sometimes purple chips to shooters that were 7ing out immediately.

The table ran out of the $5,000 grey chips at one point because he had them all, so they had to refill.

At one point about 80% of the table was on the don't pass and were cheering whenever there was a 7 out. One of the coldest tables I have ever seen, but despite the table being cold, there is no way the house won.

That must have been fun to watch. About 20 years ago at Caesars I saw a guy playing craps alone at a $100 min table. Went through 10k pretty quick and pulled out another 10k with the bank strap still on it. Guy looked like a Colombian coke dealer.

But no wait. About 5 years ago at Aria, 3 in the morning, this 30-something guy is playing craps at a reserved table. This guy is dressed like he's just washed his car. If you saw him in line at Taco Bell when they were giving away a free tostada with a two taco and large drink combo he'd fit right in.

Anyway, he's got checks all over the layout. In the rack in front of him are rows of yellow 1K checks. If you stacked them it would probably be just under two feet tall. Stick guy says to me after a couple rolls, "Sir, this is a private game." I wonder which search engine he developed.

Again about 20 years ago, I saw a guy playing a blackjack shoe game alone betting 15k a hand. He was standing at the table in the high limit room at the Golden Nugget. Looked kind of like Jon Lovitz. A crowd was watching him. He was not doing well. At one point, when he got a hit-card that busted him, he grabbed the bust-card and started to tear it in two. But discretion got the better of him and he only tore about a half inch into it. Pit boss gives off body language like, please now, you know you can't do that. But he and the dealer didn't say a thing. Imagine if you were playing for $25 a hand and did that. Different strokes for different folks.

This guy didn't look like the search engine type, more like the mattress spring tycoon's grandson type.

I didn't stick around but new cards would now have to be brought in for the next shoe.

If the crew was smart, they woulda booked it as a $100 3-way 7. Pays an extra $33!

That's incredible, though. The house probably made more money (in theoretical/EV) with his $100 7s bet than his $100 flat on the DP!

My guess is this was at one of the horseshoes.

I've noticed whales at craps tend to be "wrong" betters.

Not too long ago at Bellagio I watched someone laying the white 5K chips as odds.... And getting his ass kicked. Table went hot on the right side.

Frustrating when you're betting the dark side and you know you're more likely to win when points are established, but then you lose your face.

I've seen some big bettors but nothing close to this. Must have been amazing to watch someone just raking in the money like that. What a night!
