Season's Greetings!

The wife and I are planning on spending a couple of days, towards the end of this month, in Black Hawk, Colorado. We're both low-rollers, in the sense that we enjoy playing BJ and craps, at the table minimums. I understand most casinos are within close proximity of each other - certainly within walking distance - and am looking for suggestions on best places to play. A couple of older threads speak to some casinos offering 10X odds, w/ PL bets of $3. "Wants" in no particular order are:

1. Reasonably nice atmosphere,
2. Low HE,
3. $5 or lower table minimums,
4. "Firebet" or "All, Small, Tall,"
5. Above-average drink service.

Anyone have any relevant and recent information on BH? Thanks, in advance, for your time!

I recommend Johhny Z's casino or Z Casino. One is in Blackhawk and one in Central City, which are only a mile or so apart.

The atmosphere is nice, the Blackjack tables are usually $5 and sometimes $3 (I've heard), and they still pay 3:2. They also have a promotion where they will give you $20 in promo chips if you get 4 suited blackjacks. This adds about 1.1% at table min ($5). The place offers a fair game, such as full pay Jacks or Better for $1. I don't know what bets they offer on Craps, though (I know they have a craps table at both places). For drinks, Colorado stinks in general, but they will treat you pretty good only at the table games. The last time I went, my wife said she didn't see a single waitress while she played slots, but they were constantly stopping by the tables. On top of that, they have good food for pretty cheap and a Starbucks that doesn't charge airport prices.
I heart Crystal Math.

I thought every Starbucks charged airport prices.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Ha! True. But, a Starbucks in an airport is that much worse.

You go to get coffee when in an airport?! That's the last thing I want before getting on a plane for a couple hours. I'd rather have a few $17 double gin n tonics than any amount of coffee.

I live in Denver and Johnny Z's is where I go. The one in Central City is my favorite. There is a free shuttle that will take you between Blackhawk and Central City and they are just a mile from each other.

Johnny Z's has $3 min / 10x odds craps all day. There is a fire bet.
Blackjack is $5 min for large shoe ( 4 or 6 decks - not sure ) and there is a $10 min 2 deck table.
During mid week ( Mon - Wed/Thurs ) the $5 BJ table is $3.

Drinks in Colorado do stink. I think there's a rule/law that you get one drink per hour. There's ways around this by going between upstairs and downstairs and getting drinks at the multiple bars in the casino.

Enjoy

Thanks for the good advice offered here. Sounds like Johnny Z's and Z's are places we'll check out. Appreciate the responses!
