I have generally been a simple pass line + odds player. Occasional fire bets or come bets with odds. When I tip I normally put aside some of my odds bet for the dealers or I lay them a dollar on the line and give it some odds.

However, recently I have been interested in playing the DP a bit. How do DP players tip? I've never seen someone put dealers on the DP. Do you just toke straight in? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I've done so a few different ways.

Put the tip beside your bet
Put the tip on top of your bet, but offset. If it wins, toss in either the bet + win or just win.

Last, my favorite (if the casino allows it) is to add a buck to your odds and say it's for the dealers. They will usually pay it off at even money regardless of the point. +EV dealer bets are always nice to be able to make.

Sometimes they won't allow it, in which case you can add $2 (4/10) or $3 (5/9) to your odds and either toss in the bet + win or just the win. On a 6/8 point, I will usually lay an extra $6 or $12 and just toss in the whites if it wins.

I've seen it before, and I've done it before. Dealers will appreciate it.

I play DP 95% of the time. I never put a bet out for the dealers as it is a gamble. They all would like a sure thing like a simple toke without gambling it away. Only When they have helped me of course. And only if I win which is more times then not. (Knock on wood) Some of the bets I make are a little difficult to compute Ie.. 210 in odds on the 5 to win 140 and so on. When the dealers are nice, helpful and are watching out for me I will tip them 3% to 7% of my winnings. Sometimes 10%. 2000 won means 60 to 200 for them depending. But never put a bet down for them. I also let the dealers know as I start playing that if I win they win! However, all of the above being said if I have been there for a long time and lose I just might throw a little something something out there. I compare it to servers in a restaurant. Some of these dealers work a lot harder for you than servers and we always tip servers minimum 10%..

A often times put the dealer on the line on the DP. It's occasionally amusing..."uh oh, dealer's playing the don's!"

Or just pass it in. Either way, they will appreciate it.

Playing from the Don'ts, I would tip outright to the dealers. I would not make a bet for them in either direction for/against the shooter. When I am playing for the shooter, I may tip the dealers in the form of a place bet on the 6/8/ or point. Rarely, I might do a two-way yo.

I do not make a pass bet for the dealers. I have seen too many times, poor etiquette where dealers request odds on this tip. HELL NO! I've also been getting leery of tipping via a two-way CE or Yo. Honestly, I've heard a couple of sly remarks like "no gas money tonight". I find it rude, and when I hear crap like that, I want to take back that token action (not sure if anyone has ever rescinded a toke before).

One time at Bellagio, I made a 2-way piggy-backed hard way bet. I guess I wasn't paying attention and the stick placed it as a regular 2-way hard way. When it hit, I requested to parlay them, but the stick took $10 and down and I complained that I had requested a piggy-back. The box argued with me for a minute or so before reluctantly putting it back out. I then requested the (now) $10 back, handed in $9 and kept the other $1. No more tips that day.

On only somewhat related note, another time at Bellagio I made a 2-way world bet, and the next roll was a 7. Stick said "$5 and down." I complained that it should be a push and box said "too bad." I understand why they did that, but really what poor customer service. No more tips that day either.
