I'll be heading to Vegas in about a month and I'm wondering where you guys enjoy playing craps on the strip? What about Downtown?

I've mostly played at casinos on the south and mid part of the strip but usually end up playing at the MGM. We're looking to venture to the north part of the strip this time around. Anyone have favorite craps tables on this end?

Keep in mind I'm not asking where you've had the best luck. Although, if thats part of the reason why you prefer a particular casino over another then go for it.

What's important to you? Low mins? High mins? Best odds? Shortest tables? Demographics of other players?

Doesn't matter. I'm asking what everyone else enjoys.

The Venetian has a nice quiet atmosphere to it and one of its tables is only 22 feet from the breakfast snack area. I like safe casinos and the Venetian is probably the best guarded in town.

I would not like the atmosphere of a "Beer and Denny's" type place such as Casino Royale, but their 100x table should not be missed even though most are playing about 2x or 10x or something.

The Hendertucky places are smoke filled but one dollar during the week and two dollars on weekends is a great bargain.

I think a good many casinos change according to time of day and day of the week. Sure you see some regulars there and you start out early in the morning with the same shooters at the table from the night before but in most places the crowd changes as the day progresses.

Empty tables are more enjoyable to me than over crowded ones. Slow paced game is better than a really jammed up game.

Caesars for a fun crowd after 9:30pm. Aria for great dealers, Floor Supervisors, and a good clean game in a nice, friendly environment! Cosmo for the young (20 something) eye candy;)

Who, would you say, sees the highest $ action? I would nominally think Wynn/Encore or Bellagio. Any others that see a good deal of black chip action?

I'm a mixed red/green player so I can't claim any extensive knowledge of black or higher play. However, I have played craps everywhere (excluding Aria and TI, I think) including the "big spots." It's hard to separate average bet size from location, time of day, day of week, and events in LV. But my anecdotal data suggests Wynn is slightly higher than Bellagio which is slightly higher than CP and which is slightly higher than about everywhere else.

For my enjoyment, I hit a lot of the mid-strip Harrah's block hopping to fun tables and good drink service. I like crowds of folks because when I play craps I really enjoy the people watching. I also generally stick to very simple play and if I'm by myself I don't get to marvel at the skill of dealers working through complex parlays and mixed pays. I also am a touch introverted and so hiding in the crowd is easier for me.

Casino Royale also for the quick drink service. Also 100x odds also if that is your thing. It does bring a weird crowd though, but I don't mind that.

Kind of a reference to the tipping thread, but I've received the most "favorable" dealers there as well. For example I was basically betting 3 times odds and forgot odds on a come bet once. I had been making small passline bets for the dealer and after a 4 come bet was rolled I mentioned I forgot to add odds. The dealer told me to drop a green chip after the 4 had alraedy came (5 times odds on my $5 passline) and paid me for it. And I made an extra $20 bucks. So that was nice

I personally enjoy playing at Planet Hollywood on Friday and Saturday nights. I simply love the energy of the place and the flow of people passing by the table is always entertaining. However it would not be the place to play if your looking for best payouts and lowest minimums, but I always have a great time there.

I actually like Planet Hollywood too. I'm surprised it doesn't get mentioned more often around here.

In my experience, the minimums don't seem much different than any other mid-level place on the Strip. In fact, if it's really slow on graveyard during the week, you may even find a $5 table.
