Obviously this poll is silly, because the options have exactly the same odds. But what I want to find out is which numbers do you PERCEIVE are harder to roll... it's actually a good exercise in how superstition and bias can creep in even when we KNOW the odds.

Yeah, in a few cases. In most cases I give it no thought. Knowing 6 is just as common as 8 is at the front of my mind every time I review my perception that 8 is easier to roll. This comes up when a shooter is doing well and I want both the 6 and 8 covered, even if I have to make my rare place bet. If the 8 is not covered, it bothers me a lot more.

9 is harder than 5.
12 is harder than 2.
All others are equal.

Evidence: The Field pays on rolls of 9 but not 5, and pays triple on 12 but double on 2.
Except in Caesars properties. There, 2 and 12 are equally easy.

Nice. What about 12 being easier than 2 since a don't bet is only a push on the comeout for 12 but a win for 2? Except in Reno, of course, where 2 is easier.

I have a hard time rolling any of those numbers. Because I don't play craps.

yeah i don't know what it is about those two numbers, but almost everyone i've played craps with seems to think that 8 is the better number than 6.

There are 6 faces on each die, which obviously makes it harder to roll the 6!

Great poll. It will allow you to vote on ALL choices and record as such. So the poll is as meaningless as the questions.

Mysteriously, the number that doesn't come up is usually the point. If the point is 10, it seems easy to throw nines and fours. If the point is four, it seems like a lot of fives and tens show up.... At least that's what sticks in my memory.

I only voted for one choice: 2 is harder to throw than a 12. Perhaps this is because I use the cross sixes set with the sixes on top, and there was that study that said the numbers set facing up on a pair of dice are more likely going to be the final result than any others.

I say the 10 harder than a 4
4 was not always in the Field early on

5 and 9 are equal as are the 2 and the 12.

Every number is equally doable factoring in the dice set being used to make certain outcomes. I notice on a 5-4 dice set, the 9 appears to come out more than the 5. But I've used 4-4 with 1-1 in the middle and made many prop numbers (2,3,12) in most cases back to back (great for horn betters parleying $4.00 to $75 pretty quick) but fear the 7 in that set.
