There are many very good craps players here.

So i have a general question about betting systems.

Has anyone done enough trials on a come bet compared to say placing 6 & 8
over enough hands to see if there is a per centage difference.

I have started this and have about 20 hands so far to see what if any
difference there is. This is not enough to make any long term conclusions
on so wondered if anyone else has done this.

There are also some good players that indicate they pay attention to
what they feel are their signature numbers, or numbers they feel pay
better than the inside numbers.

The last one is hard for me to test because i surely dont have the ability
to duplicate any signature numbers they feel they have.

So far i am showing about 12% in favor of the come bet.

When Ive played craps tournaments -- and only in tournaments -- I make a passline bet and lay all of the numbers: 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 -- hoping for a 7. After the point is established I switch to right-way place betting.

In actual play I sometimes used to have my hard 6 and hard 8 working (small bets) but I did that on a lark.

However, I have had a place 4 and a place 10 working on my come outs since I tend to throw outside numbers.

Alan

Thanks and interesting.

I understand the difference between come bets and place bets by the general math of the
game.

My reason for asking the question and i guess i did not ask it very well is many people feel
any bet that you win is a good bet, thats easy, but what bet is that.

I have to be honest and say i cant wrap my head around the idea that we have a signature
number from day to day, and it is always the same number.

But what i do feel is in a roll or many rolls there is a signature number, or atleast a number
your repeat more than others if you will. Trying to capture that number is very difficult
when you also have to consider your bank roll. Starting place bets AT $54 across or what
ever level you bet at is a clear path to the poor house, allowing come bets to go all across
without hitting any to expand is no better.

So trying to bet so you capture that signature
number within each roll is the $64,000 question , atleast for me.

My testing here is trying to find how i capture as many of those numbers as possible.

Yes, indeed the $64,000 question is can you identify your signature number, only bet on it, and only hit it. I don't know of anyone who can.

We mere mortals can only hope to press up the numbers we do hit and hope they hit again.

I like a combination of the above: Start with pass-odds and placing the 6 and 8 to start or 5 if 6 or 8 is the point so three numbers to start, then place the next number rolled, then place the remaining two numbers at the same time after one of the remaining numbers are rolled, so now across. Gradual across is better than immediate across as immediate across is doomed. Then pressing after collecting 3 hits.

This works well on decent tables but still need a relative large bankroll for a day's session, $1200, for initial $15,18 bets.

Dude, no offense, but how much time do you spend playing craps in the casino? You do know you will eventually lose every dollar you wager at craps, right? I hope you are comfortable with trying out your different systems as the "cost of entertainment."

Schemes, not systems, Teddy. Its entertainment if you win. Active players should have a separate gambling budget and checking account for gambling only.l
