My local casino has an Organic Craps Table that only charges $0.01 vig per $20 on a buy bet. Does this make the buy on 6/8 better than placing them?

Basically I am asking if I should buy the 6/8 instead of placing them since the vig is so low and getting true odds?

For a penny? If they allow it, why not?

Just wanted to make sure I was making a correct bet.

you mean a better bet.
a correct bet would be for a correct payoff ($6 pays $7 for Place6)
without any breakage.
(a $5 Place6 is close with a $5.83 payoff, but still there is some breakage)

Organic Craps pays to the penny so the penalty for an incorrect bet is very small.

a good promotional bet for Craps
is the Big 6&8 that pays true odds on bets of $30 or higher (Free Buy bet)
$30 pays $36
The Place6 for $30 pays only $35

When this bet is offered, as in my own casino for example,
many craps players still refuse to make it.
they say that extra $1 in winnings is not worth the hassle and really is not that much money.

Give us the state where the casino is located. Wow! $0.01 juice on a buy bet?! That would be awesome! Now, if only my bankroll could handle that $20.00.

That really is an amazing deal... and even though $20 gives you the best HE... I'm pretty sure it's still a good bet at $5/10. Assuming it isn't some special deal $20 and higher.

Could also be a penny to buy and then a commission on a win.

The OP is asking about a $.01 vig on a $20 Buy bet on 6/8.

Since this is a BUY bet, $20 is a correct bet amount. There is no breakage.
It would pay $24 for a net win of $23.99

Assuming $30 is still $.01, a $30 Buy 6/8 would pay $36, minus the vig, instead of the $35 that the place bet would pay.

That would net you almost $1 extra on every 6 and 8 that you hit during a session. Almost enough to make me want to try and play on one of those machines.

So to clear it up, every 20.00 that you buy a number for, you win true odds minus .01. If you bet 40, it becomes true odds minus .02, and so on and so forth.
