It seems like STW was placed in every casino in Vegas - and it makes sense - craps would be an expensive game to run (lots of workers to pay) and the STW did it all for them - all the casino had to do was collect money and remove ash trays once in a while.

However, it seems like they are going away from some casinos.

Anybody know why?

Not as much $$ per floor space as slots.

Casino Morongo took out their "craps" completely. Every suit I asked said it wasn't making enough.

You speak with some of the folks in tribal casino's across the country, they indicate if they had
their drothers they would take out all table games, they make more money on slots with less
help and fewer problems.

A large craps table takes 6-7 people per shift to run, 10 slots take no one.

In Wisconsin we see more tubs, which take one to run and they are crossed trained
with other table games so they just rotate from a BJ table to a craps table. These
tubs hold 6-8 players and when full are very hard to handle for one dealer, but they
do show a profit and also allow the casino to say they have craps.

You watch most adds for a casino, and they always show some one playing craps because
it is the most exciting game there.

It's been a few years now since I saw these on the Strip. Hardly anyone was using them the first few trips, but the last time I was there in March, they seemed a lot busier. Maybe they just needed to be patient. Any Casino game will make money given patronage, and these don't require staff to run them.

Mind you they seem to get busy when you can't find a spot at a "real" craps table!
