"Hey! It's not my fault that I hatefully antagonized someone at a casino with a derogatory ethnic slur -- you people just can't decide what you want to be called! Hurry up and settle on the term, because I have some important ethno-specific and racial-specific name calling to do!"
I played crapless today at the Plaza and got a comp for Sushi. I was doing $5 bets on every roll with 5x odds. I came out ahead but only a fraction of the crazy roller coaster ride.
It was fun though getting paid $155 off and on for a $5 come on the aces with $25 odds, and $85 off and on on the ace-deuce and yo.
I had to run my rolls through a crapless simulator to know what to expect on the ups and downs. $400 up and down is pretty normal and I rode that that coaster and came out ahead.
If you don't do 5x, the 1.2% edge per roll is pretty shitty. And if you *do* the 5x, you can get massive exposure betting the come every roll like I was doing.
I'm doing well lately. Taking it pretty easy though. Everything is great.
Not missing the Silverton. I rarely took advantage of 10x odds anyway.
If you go to this Sushi place at the Plaza, I recommend the island special roll!
I have enough trouble with Craps and since the first time I did Crapless Craps I was drunk, I remember my confusion a bit too well.
>I'm up about $2000 in the last seven days. Taking it pretty easy though. My bankroll is five figures now.
Congratulations.

Most people don't take advantage of even medium odds. They may gripe about not being offered 100x but they then bet 2x or 3x all night long. I don't like it when dealers berate someone for being timid on their odds, its enough for a dealer to state once that a player should have as much of his money as possible on the odds bet.
I said "everything down" and put $250 up on the rail from the felt, and the very first roll was a seven.
So what did the stick man say?
"You Jinxed yourself."
I think my response was "I think I just saved myself $250! It's just two ways of looking at the same thing."
I had already made $400 or so on the roll. I can't believe the guy said what he said. It would have only been $150 profit if I hadn't done what I did and still rolled a seven.
The other thing I was thinking was how stupid he was to make a negative comment instead of realizing he might get a better tip if he had said something like "good timing!!!"
My thing though is that I'm not greedy. I saw a profit and an opportunity to quit while I was ahead. I know how rare it is to hit every single number out there from the all-tall-small bet. It's gambler's fallacy of course to think it affects the future, but it's also my perception that if I quit I would have a profit.
I tipped them one whole dollar after that comment. But I didn't tell the stick man, "you jinxed yourself." I left that for him to figure out.

Haha!!!
And you are correct for coming down on your bets... Alot of guys get up in rolls and think it's "their day to go the distance".. They'll find that the same money they are throwing for is literally already sitting on the table.
"pigs will get fat, hogs will get slaughtered.."

Quote: Beethoven9thYou should just let it go when someone makes a comment like that. Word spreads around like wildfire, and rightly or wrongly, you're not going to be a very popular guy at the table when the rest of the dealers hear that you tipped the crew $1 after a $400 win. And all because of an annoying remark (which wasn't even a flat out insult).
He did just let it go. He made no comments to the dealer. As far as tipping a dollar is not that the way tipping is supposed to work? He was unsatisfied with the service he got so the tip reflected that?

Wow, now that they got pissed off about. I think that was about the most trouble I ever got in. LOL.
Anyway, this situation was no big deal at all. That stick man made a total of three calls for me in his life before I colored up.
If I go back there, I'm sure I'll have more to tell him. He still has me pegged for a sucker I guess.
I'm sure he also knows the more someone wins on that game the more they are likely to tip, and that's probably the big reason he was goading me on to get a couple more calls before calling it a win.
Quote: WizardMy brother in law is a craps dealer here in Vegas. I finally had the chance to ask him about this dispute. He said that to "press" a bet means to double it. If one wanted to add the whole $150 to the bet, the correct thing to say is "all the way up." So, he agrees with the Silverton. Had he been dealing, he would have also interpreted your request as doubling the bet on the eight to $240, and giving back $30 in change.
Thank you for weighing in on this. I learn something new every day, and I am totally okay with admitting I was wrong and just didn't know the terminology I was using.
I will go back and apologize to the boxman as a result of this, and I appreciate your comments very much.
This actually makes me feel much better as I thought the whole "press it all the way means 240" was BS. But if that's the way it is, I am fine with a $35 lesson on something I didn't know. I like to think of myself as someone who knows it all when it comes to this game, but this just goes to show I don't!
Since he wasn't wrong, I will tell you that the box man at the time was Billie. And I think I have said this, but I don't even fault Billie nor did I ever. It was just a sort of straw that broke the camel's back.
I had a ten minute conversation about this conflict after I made a $1,400 comeback at the Las Vegas Club this morning with the black stick chick who called all that eights in a row for me.
LOL. Thanks very much, Wizard!!!

That's pretty cool, Ahigh. You're a good guy for admitting you were wrong because most people wouldn't.
Another way that I have heard is to say "full press"Quote: WizardMy brother in law is a craps dealer here in Vegas. I finally had the chance to ask him about this dispute. Never press your luck with jargon unless you know what it really means and the people using it agree with you.Quote: HunterhillAnother way that I have heard is to say "full press"
The newly hired girl who accepted a nickle bet on the Superbowl was lucky she won... and shocked as hell when the guy wrote out a five thousand dollar check to her. Nickle and Dime had a different meaning in her new world and she had forgotten that.
I've always though Press meant increase by the full amount of the money in play...meaning if the winnings were "X" increase by "all of X" and if the player was putting additional chips down it meant "all of those winnings and all of these too".
Since its always been a source of misunderstanding I rarely use it. And I remember that poor sod in Downtown who thought he heard the word "dress" and got berated by a dealer who was impatient and rude about it.
