Quote: AhighIt's so funny. set them all you want folks! It's just random!
Just like Ahigh's posts on this subject, random. One
week he's doing it, next week he's not doing it. Hard
to tell where he is at any moment. I guess we'll know
for sure when he gets rid of his table.

Wow. You really have no clue.

You mean that he hasn't changed at all, he still
believes him and god are the best shooters in
Vegas? Is that what you mean?
Quote: IbeatyouracesWhether it works or not, I see no harm in trying.
I agree, couldn't hurt. I switched from a Hard-Six set to a Hard-Four set the last time I shot because I was shooting for s#^# out of the Hard-Six. Do I think it matters? Absolutely not, but it didn't stop Lady Variance from smiling upon me by allowing me to make a comeback before they closed for the night.
Quote: GiorgioFromYumaMy opinion is you should look at the three threads on the topic on the front page alone, including one with 113 replies right above this, instead of making the tenth thread about it this week.
Lol. If you can't beat em, join em.
Trying is part of the game. It is why the players throw the dice and not the dealers. Try it. It can't hurt.
Quote: FrankScobleteInteresting Alan. The Captain used to say the same thing; that even shooters who were not rhythmic rollers (his term for dice controllers) should develop a style and at least look as if they really wanted to win.
At the least it gives the box something to watch. As long as the game is not being slowed down who cares? The anti-setters need something to worry about I guess.
Your the one that is funny, think a sec...... your here everyday, you try to have
a video show on craps, you said the other day you saw a guy that maybe was better
than you are. ( now that was a good one by the way).... you take up everyones
time on here and why..... to play game that is only luck, by your standards you can
throw from any where, throw any way you want throw, back wards forwards, sideways
and it makes no difference.....
Why not just sell your table, trash your camera, get drunk and play craps.
I have never seen a guy spend so much on something they admit is a waste of time.
Dicesitter.
I can atleast say i have had 31 -40 or better rolls, 5 -50 or better rolls in the past 3.5
years with dice control and i have not had a single one with the 3 v set and all
but one of the others was with the hardway set, 1 was with a semi hardway set i was
trying.
to me set means a lot ,
Quote: AlanMendelsonI agree with everyone else who says it doesn't hurt to try. Try it. It can't hurt.
Of course it can "hurt."
No less a craps luminary than Frank Scoblete says he is now permanently BANNED from shooting craps in the state of Mississippi due to his dice setting affectation.
Clearly, it "hurt" Frank to "try" dice setting in the Mississippi casinos, as well as at Bellagio, etc.
Quote: 24Bingo...pret-ty sure Ahigh is being sarcastic, dicesitter, EvenBob.
Or, it might help if one is able to distinguish dice setting from dice influencing.
That simple ability seems to elude a few folks on this forum.

He wasn't banned for dice setting.

Ah, so you want to split hairs?
Sorry, I will not claim he was banned for "controlled shooting," as there is no such animal.
The dice run wild and free and cannot be controlled by the hand of man.
However, if someone didn't "set" or didnt use a "controlled" throw the casinos would just say this guy is real lucky.
When you "set" you just bring attention to your winning. I would venture to say that casinos don't like winners, period.

Embrace the semantics. Yes. For anyone who cannot be semantically correct, fall to the way side.
It's all random, folks!
How many fives do you roll in comparison to other numbers?
I've gone through periods when I roll a lot of a particular number... and then they disappear and then I roll a lot of a certain other number.
Strange things happen at a craps table. Consider this, in early March at Caesars.
It's Sunday evening and there is a $10 table open. I get the dice and roll a 6 on the come-out.
I bet $52 across and odds on my $10 passline bet.
Now consider this... after five numbers are rolled (pay back is $70) I start to press my place bets.
About 25 minutes later I have the following bets on the table:
4 ($50), 5 ($75) 8 ($90) 9 ($75) 10 ($50)
And I have about $600 profit in my rail.
What's unusual about this? I never made the point of 6. For 25 minutes I rolled everything but a six and a seven. The seven-out came after 25 minutes... never rolled the 6. And in 25 minutes I must have rolled at least 50 times... one roll per 30 seconds... maybe a bit more than 50 rolls of the dice.
But the night before at Caesars, I had a hand where the come out point was a 5... and I then rolled hard six three times in a row (no bets on the hard six for the entire table) and then I sevened out.
Stuff like that happens, and frankly I tend to ignore it for having any significance. What is significant is that I throw a 7 always at the wrong time... right in the middle of a great hand. LOL
Now days just about everybody sets the dice, the best one I saw so far had to be the guy the other night that would shake the dice in is one hand then set them down on the table and set them on a all seven set after the come out roll, sorry Charlie seven out line-away!
People are just followers, if they see someone have a good roll they try to do the same thing, even if they don’t have a clue as to what they are doing. That is one reason it takes so long to get a roll sometimes, they don’t even know that what is on the other side of the die they are looking at adds up to seven. So they fumble with the dice trying to set them.
If they get lucky they too may have a good roll, but if they are like the guy the other night and only looked at what the shooter before him did, when he was setting the all seven set on the come out roll, he just might seven out!
Setting the dice give these players a false hope of winning and isn’t that what the casinos wants? Then need players to think they can beat the game of craps, and setting the dice is just one more false hope that is working in the favor of the casinos.

Its exactly the same as the casino putting the toteboard
on the roulette table. It helps the player not at all, but
when they first started appearing in the late 80's and
early 90's, the hold for roulette went up by a third overnight.
Players thought it gave them an advantage to see the past
numbers, just like they think setting the dice gives them
an advantage.
Always keep in the forefront of your mind that the casino
will never willingly let you do anything they think might
give you even the tiniest advantage in one of their games.

Quote: Zcore13You can't be banned from an entire State for winning.
Technically this is true. I couldn't ban somebody from
my bar for life either, I had to enforce it on a daily
basis. You get banned from a casino, or a bunch of
casinos in the same state the same way. Its not an
official ban, but they will enforce it on a daily basis.
