I am going to St. Lucia next month for my honeymoon and plan to play some craps. They informed me via FB that they have $3 minimums and triple odds. My question is what would be the best way to play if I only made a $3 bet. What odds would I put behind each number betting the right side? How much to lay betting the don't?

I also like to place the 6 and 8 on occasion, but is placing the 6 and 8 for $3 a good idea? Or should I do 6 to ensure a real 7:6 payoff as I assume I can't get 3.50:3, right?

Ive never played Triple Odds only double and 3-4-5. I also have never played minimums <$5.

You can take odds of $10 on the six/eight, $10 on the five/nine, and $9 on the four/ten. I expect they'd let you put $10 odds on every number just to make it easier. For lay betting, you could lay $12 against the six/eight, $15 against the five/nine, and $18 (probably $20) against the 4/10. That's with a $3 bet at all times. Not a bad deal.

Placing the 6 and 8 for $3 is not a good deal unless they have quarter or half-dollar chips. If they don't, they will pay you $3 per bet, which is shorting you $0.50 every win. This is horrible. You should bet $6 to ensure a real $7 payout, unless for some reason they round up on bets of $4 and $5.

Assuming they only have $1 chips:

Max odds on $3 pass is $5 (for 6 and 8), $8 (for 5 and 9), $9 (for 4 and 10).
Max odds on $3 dont is $6 (for 6 and 8), $12 (for 5 and 9), and $18 (for 4 and 10).

Likely on a $3 minimum they have .50 chips.

Always put full odds where possible.

On the pass, EV on $3 table is always 3x.0141414 = $-.04242
For playing max odds based on above, HA is 3* .014141 / 7.666667 (average bet) = 0.553%

On the don't, EV on $3 table is always 3 x .01364 = $.04091
For playing max odds based on above, HA is 3*.01364 / 10.33333 (average bet) = 0.396%

It's likely that a $3 table has .50 chips. The only change you would make is to put $9 on the 5 and 9 for odds.

What is stopping you from making $5 bets with double odds?
If that is what you are used to playing
you can easily do that on a $3 min and 3X max odds table...

Maybe I am missing your point of??
your honeymoon

Great Luck to you!

I just like to always bet the table minimum as I usually start with a bankroll of $100 and mainly just play for fun and no real expectations of winning big. Im a real low roller, who just loves the game of craps.
