Not all that new as I believe this game debuted at Sunset Station last summer, but it is now at Santa Fe Station casino. I couldn't find an analysis of this game or any other details, but maybe I was not looking in the right places.

Any one know anything about this alternate version of blackjack?

Thanks

I stopped by Santa Fe and grabbed an info card on the game. Hit and Run Blackjack progressive is an optional side bet which awards players based on the number of cards the dealer ends up with at the end of the hand. This is a Shufflemaster game and the payouts are as follows:

If the dealer is dealt a Blackjack the side bet pays 4-1 ($1-$25 side bet min/max)
If the dealer ends up with five cards the side bet pays 7-1
. . . . six cards 25-1
. . . . seven cards 100-1
. . . . eight cards all players split the progressive (Progressive I believe starts at $1000).

Nothing indicates whether the dealer has to make a hand, meaning I am not sure if the dealer has five cards, but bust on the sixth card, how many cards is the dealer considered to have been dealt five or 6?

Interesting to note, if 3 players were betting $5 on the side bet and the dealer ended up with 8 cards and the progressive was $1,200, then each player would receive $400. However, it would have been more profitable if the dealer would have ended up with 7 cards as the players each would have won $500.

Also, the info sheet does not outline how multiple players would split the progressive if they were betting different amounts, would the $1 side bet bettor receive the same amount as a $5 side bet bettor?
