I have started playing blackjack tournaments for free at a well known website that awards cash prizes for the top finishers. I have already won two, but I am looking for any advice to improve further.

Most players bet half their bankroll on the first hand, but I believe you stand to survive more by betting the minimum throughout, and only increasing your bet to avoid elimination. I also see situations where I don't play basic strategy because I have to avoid busting out. Anyone have any views, advice or experience?

Nothing specific, except advice I've given in the past.

Since you have a limited number of hands, you need to maximize them.

A tournament is the only time I would consider or suggest, splitting tens, or doubling on a soft 20.
I invented a few casino games. Info: http://www.DaveMillerGaming.com/ ————————————————————————————————————— Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? 😁

There is a web site that is dedicated to Blackjack Tournaments, you may find helpful info on it http://www.blackjacktournaments.com/ and the companion site Blackjack info http://www.blackjackinfo.com/
