Here’s the rules:
- earn 150 tier credits to receive a tournament entry
- one player vs the Dealer
- eight hands only
- player receives $25,000 in promotional chips
- player who racks up the most chips wins $10,000 cash
- 2nd through 6th place wins some promotional chips
I’d appreciate any advice on betting strategy

If you earn 300 tier credits do you get two entries?
How many tournament entries are there?
Strategy will differ if it’s 20, 220, or 22,000.
Is there a ‘leader board’ that is updated as the promotion goes on?
Is there a ‘table limit’ for any bet?
My 25 hand tourney virtual competitors can usually get to triple or quadruple their buy-in. They usually bet small to begin with and start going all-in on the last few hands. I don't play that way so I usually win because they all went bust (3 other virtual players). My goal was to stay in the tourney and not lose too much money, because it was still a cash game to me. On my $25K tourneys, we'd all start with $25K and the winner would receive a $25K prize. I needed at least a $25K bankroll to play in the tourney, and whatever I lost or won on the hands alone was debited from or credited to my bankroll. There were other tourneys: a $1K, a $5K, a $25K, a $100K, and a $500K. My win goals were to break even and potentially win because the others went bust or to maybe double my money in those 25 hands.
No idea of how many entries there will be. The Tournament occurs every Thursday in June so i might have a better idea on entries, leader board and table limits, if any, after the first day, June 4th. If, I had to guess on number of entries it would be in upper hundreds to lower thousands, but that’s just a SWAG.
Any idea of how much playing it will take to earn 150 credits? I only play blackjack on the tables and the electronic version, plus some electronic craps, baccarat and video poker?
Some casinos require $10-$20 per point for e-games, so double check on your own before getting too far. You might need $50 bets on e-craps games to get meaningful points.

Ok. If it’s thousands of entries you certainly won’t win if you double or triple your stake. Since you only have 8 hands to play betting enough that you can at least split once and hope to not lose any hands. Maybe one in 200 you can accomplish that?
For the BJ tourney I'd see about betting 1/4th to 1/6th my stake per hand. There really isn't room for a 6 win in a row progression. I think it's just an opportunity to hold large value chips for a few minutes, nothing more.
I've never been in a tournament where it was run other than the entire pool of participants plays at the same time, at most divided up into groups but everyone starting on the same day around the same time and gradually advancing to a final table. The final table is the one where money is guaranteed, although sometimes small money is also guaranteed at the semi-final level.
I have been in very high end tournaments where a small group of us play at say, six tables simultaneously, and one person from each table advances to the final table and is guaranteed money.
By money, I mean either cash or promo chips.
I saw a craps tourney in a casino long ago. I'd be interested but the top prizes were taxable.
Reddit says: "Casinos don't issue a W-2G for promo chips, nor do they require a social security number. They do for tournament wins in cash. For blackjack tournaments the reporting threshold is in excess of $2000 in 2026. If you're not a US citizen they'll withhold 30%."
"If the promo chips are good until lost they are worth the same as cash minus the house edge. If they're only good for one wager they are worth only 50% of face value at blackjack minus the house edge. The higher the odds payoff the closer to face value they are worth (most casinos only allow them to be wagered on even money bets)."
"Actually sometimes they will give you free slot play instead of free chips. Free slot play is far better if the chips are only good for one wager."

If you have any say in when you play you want to play as late as possible so that you know the score that you have to beat.
This reminds me of the BJ tournaments on cruise ships.
