I was given a few books by a friend, titles in the poll.

My question, if I were to read one which one would you recommend? Or, which one should I read first?

I believe I am proficient at basic strategy. I am looking for additional ideas, explained in the best way, to improve my game.

Perhaps there is another reason to select one book over the other. Thoughts?

None of them are bad books. Reading them all in the order you listed them will do.

I found Blackjack Blueprint and Knock-Out Blackjack to be the most approachable. If you're starting from basic strategy, either is a fine place to start.

KO offers some unorthodox philosophies. I would suggest Blueprint if there is any chance that you'll want to conform to the usual way of doing things.

In any case, a book can teach you what to practice, but you still need to put in daily practice to have a chance of benefitting from what the books say.

KO Blackjack is the easiest to incorporate, and Snyder's book is both informative and entertaining. I didn't care for Blackjack Blueprint, but don't remember why.

I don't disagree with any of that. I'll suggest that Blueprint has a significantly different style from KO & Snyder, and both KO & Snyder are more entertaining to read.

Fortunately, if you start on one and it doesn't resonate with you, there are second choices close at hand.

It looks like Dieter has read a lot. Many blackjack forums are dying though.

There was a time when I found it interesting and read what I could get my hands on.

I've read and own two of those books. Professional BJ by Stanford Wong (not Wond) is not the right starter book, in my opinion. YMMV. Blackbelt in Blackjack is better as an introductory book, I think, because he explains the concepts better.

I think the best beginner's books for BJ is Blackjack Bluebook 2. The author takes you thru his method as if you know nothing and spims enough entertaining yarns so as to keep the student interested.
The Blackjack Zone is good for destroying myths and misconceptions about the game, but it may not be a great first book.

both "Modern Blackjack" by Norm Wattenberger and "Blackjack Attack" by Don Schlesinger are excellent especially for those who already know basic strategy as you indicated

btw - Norm runs the linked website where Don also participates; and they both as well as some very experienced and knowledgeable contributors will gladly answer any questions you may have - it really is an excellent resource
