Here's an article from the interwebs on the time when some Las Vegas casinos welcomed Bob Bamford and Joe Alper—and their 5-pound card-counting machine— to their blackjack tables.

More APs in history: the four guys who invented Basic Strategy for 21.
Edit: OK, they weren’t APs because they didn’t count cards, but maybe if the rules were good enough, they might have had an advantage.

It's a pity that your link no longer works, I would be interested to read it. I found an interesting article about the basic blackjack strategy for online casinos. The basic strategy for an online casino is especially interesting since there is no way to count cards online. But in this article, nothing is written about the history of the creation of this basic strategy for blackjack, and I would be interested to read it.

That's news to me.Quote: Jorge... there is no way to count cards online.
It's not especially worthwhile, but with live dealer games, it is possible and actually good practice.
