He also has 22. If the dealer has an ace and a 9 he has 10. however he stays because he has 20, he doesn't take another hit. So why must the dealer hit in the above situation?

Because if using the ace as 11 would make the dealer bust ,it then reverts to being counted as 1.Quote: OmahaHe also has 22. If the dealer has an ace and a 9 he has 10. however he stays because he has 20, he doesn't take another hit. So why must the dealer hit in the above situation?
It's the same as with the players hand,if you have a 7 and an 8 for a total of 15 and hit with an ace it's only 16 not 26.

+1.
Dealer has a suited 12.
The ace doesn't count as an 11 for the players hope of a win, the ace counts as a 1 by the dealer's hit and stand drawing rules.
No suited win unless the dealer hits with a spade ten.

The official rules of the game include the phrase "If the dealer busts with a point total of 22..." If an ace can be one or eleven, it's indefensible to say that a 9-2-A is busting.

And there is no chance in hell that you will go to Disneyland and come back with more money than you went with.
