What really annoys me at the Blackjack table...is the guy that jumps in at the seat nearest to the roulette table and insists on continuously wandering or stretching over to place roulette bets while rudely ignoring the fact that the BJ dealer is awaiting his decision. I take some pleasure in watching such rude fools neglect their hands and lose.

I didn't need to tell him about bad luck. Within minutes I saw him dip into his pocket half a dozen times to change more money. After about 20 minutes he was skulking over by the low stakes slots near the exit. I can't imagine he ever visits the cash out counter.
Since, apart from him, I was playing heads up and really having fun chatting with Sally the dealer, I was tempted to mess with his head by playing two hands and stalling my most obvious decisions while he was gracing the table with his half presence. Next time :o)

Things that used to annoy me at ANY table don't annoy me as much any more after reading the Wizard of Odds over the years. I can see how true APs would be annoyed at some blackjack plays because they know the count but, if you don't know the count, nothing really matters--it isn't like you are acting on knowledge at that point!

I'm tired of all the attacking of ploppies--I direct people to the Wizard's site if they want to learn more, but it is up to them to learn about the game. Of course, if everyone knew what the smart folks knew, the casino games would get even worse...they aren't gong to give up their profits without degrading their product, if necessary (or even if not necessary!).

To be fair, this isn't a matter of playing "correctly" or "incorrectly". This is a matter of slowing the game down inconsiderately. More a matter of manners than anything. It's not hard to pick a table. I, for one, am glad Washington doesn't allow multi-tabling.

I've no problem with ploppies. I may even be one when I'm playing in silly ways for the fun of it. But this guy was being downright ignorant and the dealer had to keep shouting over to him to ask his choice of play. I could see she was as irritated as I was. With hindsight, I should have winked at her while his back was turned and started REALLY slowing his game down. Next time.

Someone wrote down the wizardofodds website for me at the table, and explained "this game has a basic strategy and proper way to play" (not BJ game). Was that you?

new member here, just throwing that out.

1.) bad attitude/Negativity: Just yesterday, someone sat at the table I was at, there were 3 others on the table, all of us were laughing, having a good time and winning almost every hand. This guy comes in, just a rotten attitude, mean, full of negative energy. That is what annoys me are those people that have a bad attitude that will empty out a table of people having a good time.

2.)that person that tells you how you should play because they have more money on the table, so they think they have a right to play everyone elses hand. Or the person that tells you how to play before you even sit down (happened to me a few days ago). I play basic strategy, I've remembered the entire card, so I know what I'm doing. If they want to do something different, it's on them, I don't care how others play their hands.

3.) Poor hygiene at the blackjack table. I have sat at a table where foul odors were emanating from someone at the table. It really is quite annoying and makes the game to be less enjoyable.

One of the things that annoys me is when you walk up to a fairly full table to play blackjack. You sit down, cash in and start betting. But the guy next to me has his drink almost in front of me. Usually I play a few bets and if the guy doesn't move his drink over I'll just slide his cup holder a few inches toward him (no one has ever said anything).

And no one has ever lambasted me for playing contrary to BS while sitting at third base and "taken the dealer's bust card." If they did, I might say that had one person played their hand one card differently since the shuffle the dealer would have gotten a different hit-card. Or I might say that I've been getting killed standing on 12 when the dealer's up-card is a five. Years ago I split 10s against a dealer up-card of 6 (plus 5 TC). Guy to my left says, "I hope you lose." I won.

That's surely the right punishment for these fools, followed by their losing.

Another thing that, well, doesn't annoy me but seems like a waste of time: The person in a hand-held game that likes to slowly, very slowly, slide their bottom card out from behind their top card.
Gee, what's it gonna be?
There's part of it!
Too little to tell yet!
In another 3 seconds we'll have the answer!

I can't stand it when someone rolls up to the table to turn cash into chips or colour change and then walks away. A dealer told me they usually come from the high limit baccarat tables and don't want grief from their superstitious friends for 'messing up the flow' at the table. No worries, just come and waste some of our time then...!

This usually seems to happen on the first or second spot, when everyone else on the table has already tucked, well before the dealer has slid the hole card under. "Maybe, if I slide it back slowly enough, it will be a good card!" Right up there with the guy who insists on rubbing his cards face down on the felt before picking them up... like it's going to take that extra pip off the 2.

The guy at the end who won't even pick up his cards to start thinking about them until everyone before him has made their play bugs me... particularly when he's got to think about if he's going to tuck his hard 20 for a minute.
May the cards fall in your favor.
