I think the majority of high limit players are ploppies.

Really? I've found some have had too much of that expensive Brandy from time to time and some are more loud than is appropriate for a high limit room which generally lacks the boistorous enthusiasm and loud music of the general casino. Generally they all know the rules and basic strategy and are polite but concentrating on the cards.

I've been even at low level tables where players will watch and make appropriate suggestions in accord with Basic Strategy. Sometimes its real fine experience to have the whole table playing together and its obvious everyone looks at all the cards and follows what everyone else is doing. This shows a measure of skilled play and a general absence of ploppies.

Go kill the El Cortez SD game!

It may be too much hassle. I once colored out 5 black from their craps game (betting red/green) and the cage cashier had to make a call to authorize the payout. That was a first for me, but imagine what the procedure would be if someone was actually betting black in the first place.

I once colored out 5 black from their craps game (betting red/green) and the cage cashier had to make a call to authorize the payout.

Several years ago someone organized a limousine trip where gamblers in Tuxedos and Black Evening Gowns were to descend on a casino and Bet Black despite the fact that the casino hardly ever saw any black action at all. At the last minute it became one limousine and two cabs worth of revelers who descended on a downtown casino, I forget which one, but it was most definitely a marginal operation. They reported that the casino did very well and despite there having been no warning to the pit boss, these groups of formally attired gamblers had a great time playing with people who were still wearing their release bracelets from the house of detention. The dealers did very well despite having chip trays that in some cases were not banked to handle such action and the Pit Boss even told the organizer to notify him in advance and next time he have something special done up for them. Some casinos are marginal operations. At the All Penny Emerald Isle in Henderson the cashier has to call to get authorisation for all payouts over 500.00. At the Eureka, now renamed I think, (main door locked after six pm) the situation is pretty much the same. Good food, good games... but its largely red chip action only.

Feeling like he is "going to have a breakdown" and like he's not inside his own body is well past the threshold for negatively affecting his play decisions, in my opinion.

Out of respect for ace and his right to choose whatever he wants to do with his own money, I have refrained from posting any type of gambling question or opinion BUT I feel that soda is 100% correct here. If you have gone on tilt (which it seems you have) it may be best to pack it in for the time being and either have a good snooze or go do something fun out there (just stay away from Fatburger on the strip, they are busy renaming it "gangsta's paradise":)).

Tomorrow when you are fresh, win or lose, you will be ready to play your best game and make the best of your decisions while playing.

It is a tough decision to have to make as you are on tilt.............

Either way, we still enjoy your trip reports and updates and feel like we are being raked right there with you!

I would agree. We aren't talking about reaching some sort of 'stop limit', where it would make no difference whether your next play was in 5 minutes or tomorrow or next week. AlexWolf is right that there would be no reason to stop in that situation. What we are talking about is a possible loss of self control, and controlling one's emotions. That is never a good thing and I would also recommend a break to refocus, whether it be for the day or the trip or whatever the circumstance requires.

Now, let me say this about Ace's trip reports....I have gotten to the point that I have almost stopped reading them. They all go the same way. He gets down early in the trip, makes a big comeback and ends up a substantial winner, far more than expectation. It remains to be seen how this one will play out...Lol. How much time left on this trip? I know Evenbob is foaming at the mouth hoping for a different outcome...lol. I am not routing against him...I even gave up one of my better downtown EV opportunities to him via PM.

But getting serious for a minute, Ace if this is the first time, you have the possibility of a losing trip, you aren't handling it very well, mentally, nor emotionally. This IS exactly what the game of blackjack is all about.....learn to deal with it.
