Promo at Canterbury Park, MN

Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN has been remodeling their card room since November. The new space opened last Wednesday. It's a marginal improvement, BUT one of the grand re-opening promos is pretty interesting.

On any blackjack table, 3 BJs in a row pays $500 and 4 in a row pays $10K. If I play the $5 miminum on a 6 deck game (h17, DAS, RSA, double any two cards, no surrender. approx 0.7% HA) what effect does the promo have on the HA?

Dunno, but I have gotten four blackjacks in a row once. In fact, it was in Spanish 21, where it is even more rare.

The 3 Bjs returns 2.08 cents per hand and the 4 Bjs returns 2.08 cents per hand.

If my math is correct, if you're betting $5 per hand then the player advantage in that situation is approximately .83%. However, this would have a very high variance. It would take you a very long time to get even 3 Bjs in a row.


The wizard might want to check my math but I think I'm close.

It's hard for me to believe people are willing to chase 3 BJ's in a row when we have Reports of guys that cannot even win 1 hand out or 30 in a row. (;
