Guys, just a small reminder here in case some hadn't seen it yet.

This is a 10-Days alert notice that our forum's "open house" policy is finally, officially ENDING on Friday, October 25th 2013.

I know I've said this is "coming soon" for a long time but it's actually happening this time, LOL

If you're a member on our site over on DetroitBlackjackTeam.com, and especially MIDWEST, Michigan, Northern Ohio, etc area residents, and have not logged in for a while, and maybe unaware of what we've been working on, please stop by and check out the "3-Stage Plan & Forum Reboot" and "Focus Group" topic sections to see what's up lately.

An email about this will be going out to all registered members later today too... check your in-boxes.

And finally, anyone here who has not registered an account on our forum is still welcome to join in the next 10 days, while the open-house is still in effect. After we're "closed" again however, you'll need a reference from an existing member, at a bare minimum, to get in.

Thanks,

- DBJT, Admin

OK Ibeatyouraces, thanks for the post. But for what it's worth, if you haven't looked over what we're working on lately u might wanna spend a little time reading it (on our board)... just 'cuz what you're saying IS actually a lot of the problem I think we're trying to solve! (I have the same problem as an individual solo player here myself too!)

Individual players get too much EXPOSURE working solo, and hence have to travel a lot usually. But a large crew, working together, with each person working much LESS (in theory, or at least only "moving" more) just might be able to better fly under the radar, avoid detection, so that the overall group benefits together more.

Personally I'm interested in "working" on this without actually having to "PLAY" the tables barely at all... ;)

But I don't want to say too much more about any of this in public... if you don't mind. And of course it's all still only "in the works" and might not pan out at all, no idea yet at all, honestly, BUT again for what it's worth, we're trying to put this together SOON... and it's open for anyone interested in learning more on our board, for 10 days more...

In Response To: DBJT Forum "Open House" Ending - Oct 25th 2013 (DBJT)

Some "Final Public Comments"...

To the Online AP Community: GUYS, just FYI before the final cutoff of the "open house" stage of our DetroitBlackjackTeam.com project, I just wanted to post a few final remarks here in public about it.

I've been playing this crazy simple impossible maddening beautiful card game for nearly a quarter century now, and successfully as a long-term Advantage Player for 20+ years. As some of you already know, I've never gone "full-time pro" but I did play semi-pro at high stakes for a while, some years ago, in order to make enough extra money to keep my business alive thru a "dry spell", and long enough for us to achieve a couple other critical business objectives, to ultimately enable the SALE of the company to a major Fortune-100 corporation, for a very nice chunk of change $$$.

Thus, even never having been "pro" I still owe a lot of my success in life to Lady Blackjack, and I am thankful to her for that :)

My brief flirtation with full-time professional play convinced me, however, that I'd never really want to do it again. The constant travel, road warrior lifestyle, extreme variance risk, etc is just not for me, although I respect the hell out of those of you who CAN pull it off.

This has left me now in the classic predicament of ALL skilled AP's who are reaching near the end of their "local only" casino tolerance level, or long-term cumulative win, or other such "career ending" problems as are very well known.

I really don't want to travel constantly as I get older, but I also don't want to LEAVE blackjack, nor abandon my ability to extract money from the casinos, if at all possible!

Similarly, as I look back over my long experience of the game... remembering myself as a younger man learning and struggling to beat the casinos, during all that time, and despite being constantly surrounded by other players at the tables, and despite the pseudo-camaraderie that often develops between people (ploppy bonding over "flow of the cards" nonsense, notwithstanding, LOL)... it's very clear that ALL of this is -- for all players -- quite a LONELY and ISOLATED endeavor.

As fascinating as the learning process and the game itself can be at times, we - all of us - are really always mostly ALONE in ALL of it.

But I don't really see WHY it has to be this way.

Except for a simple LACK of MEANS, i.e. there is no existing "infrastructure" to help overcome this situation, I really do not believe that it actually DOES "have to be" this way.

In my considered opinion, ALL players should be "in this game together" more. Especially players of some skill, or at least those players who possess enough basic intelligence to GAIN more skills & ability, if only they had some real means for help or proper guidance.

Moreover, in spite of the typical AP's disdain that is commonly exhibited towards "the ploppies" I fail to see why AP's should not somehow be able to EXPLOIT and WORK WITH the less-skilled players, who we are constantly surrounded by in the casinos after all, in order to achieve a more mutual benefit (at the casino's expense!) for BOTH classes of player... AP and Ploppy alike!

This area in particular, I believe, is a seriously un-tapped gold mine of potential.

But except for something like simple EGO (?) most AP's never seem to consider it... for some reason.

Bottom line? My aim is to change a lot of the above and solve some of these problems, by means of this website we're building.

Again, without going into more details now... my purpose of this post is simply to spell out a little more of WHAT'S GOING ON with this invitation, before our "open house" ends, for any interested players to REGISTER NOW while our site is still temporarily open.

Of course, you may choose to believe it's all just a scam, or maybe I'm an idiot and nothing will come of all this, or whatever else you would like to think, to just dismiss it. But for those with the ability to understand and appreciate at least SOME of what I'm saying, above... if you just LOOK at our website as it exists so far, as we've built it up into what it is today (even just the public-facing, visible part, not even considering the private access forum content) and ask yourself -- IF maybe you MIGHT want to be involved in a serious project to SOLVE some of these PROBLEMS that I have mentioned above...?

IF SO, our "open house" is in effect for about 48 hours more, thru Friday October 25 2013. Registration link is :
http://www.detroitblackjackteam.com/bbs/ucp.php?mode=register

IF NOT? Well, go ahead and ignore it all or make some more snide or insulting posts, if that really amuses you. Knock yerself out, LOL (Note/Edit: FYI this site here was OK, no idiots here, but certain OTHER forums had several "troll responses" posted to original thread above...)

Bottom line? This is what I'm about... and what this website and team project of ours is about.

IF & WHEN we begin to reach our membership goals, and after this project reaches some critical mass point, it's very likely that I will REDUCE or ELIMINATE my own "online presence" in these open/public forums, such as this one and Wong's BJ21 board and elsewhere, in favor of getting REAL WORK done on our OWN private, secure site (not to mention out in the real world, beating the hell out of the casinos for their money, for our members benefit...)

Just be aware IF and when I "disappear" that way, there will be no more "public access" info available to any of this, to what we're working on.

The "invitation" we're making is here, now, and it likely won't be later... so if anything I've said in these "final comments" has "rung a bell" or "struck a chord" with your OWN personal experience of the game, just take it for what it's worth (to you) TODAY and maybe join us, to see where we'll go with it.

And if none of this resonates with you, if maybe you're too young to GET what I'm saying, above, about this crazy game, or you're too smart or too much better than everyone else to be bothered with such things, WELL, I'd bet that after you gain a little more experience you might start to grok what I'm sayin', too late for it to help you. But I'll still leave off with "good cards" and "Aces & Faces" to you all anyway... :)

-DBJT

P.S. By the way, please, I really do want this to be the end of it here, in a public thread. If you're inclined to reply further to what I wrote above, just take it to OUR forum or email me direct or whatever, instead of posting any more here. THIS "public" topic thread wasn't intended to be anything more than a simple final invitation to check out our site, a simple NOTICE that it's closing, so please let's leave it at this, enough for here. Thanks.

I love ploppies and always have. I love them so much that I refrain from calling them that. Frank, if you're reading this did you really coin the term?

Actually, not sure if you're serious but IF you're a P.I. or have experience or access to good background checking, get in touch.

It's not out of the question: as things progress we WILL be doing a certain amount of 'vetting' on members, in-between their evolution from simple "member" to actual "player" (i.e. before anyone gets any access to TEAM MONEY...)
