I went to Ameristar Casino in St. Charles yesterday for the first time in six months or so. They have a new side bet on most of their Black Jack tables, called In Between. I haven't seen it anywhere else I've been, and didn't see anything posted here about it (after a quick search). I'm hoping some of you numbers gurus can do the math and tell the rest of us how bad the odds are on this bet.
You win if the dealer's up card is in between your first two cards. The card ranking specifically states that Aces are high only. Here is the payoff Table:
Triple Match 30-1 example: 7-7, 7
One Card Spread 10-1 example: 4-6, 5
Two Card Spread 6-1 example: 4-7, 5
Three Card Spread 4-1 example: 4-8, 5
Any Other Spread 1-1
Can somebody calculate the house advantage, etc. of this for me?

Just multiply the probability by ten, subtract that from the return for 12 on WoO and add the difference to the House Edge.

DESCRIPTION
Blackjack Sandwich is a card game designed to be played as a blackjack side bet.
The object of the game is to achieve a “sandwich” in which the dealer’s up card is ranked between both or equal to either of the player’s first two cards.
RULES
1. Blackjack Sandwich is played using 4 to 8 decks of cards. For purposes of the side bet, aces are always high.
2. To begin, the player makes his wager for the side bet in the appropriate betting box.
3. The dealer then deals two cards face up to each player and one card face up and one card face down to himself as part of the normal blackjack dealing procedure.
4. Before continuing further with the blackjack game, the dealer will assess the outcome of each side bet hand to determine whether any player has achieved a sandwich.
5. Starting on his right, the dealer will collect all losing bets and pay all winning bets according to the sandwich pay schedule. The following table describes each winning hand on the pay table.
Triple Sandwich 15 to 1
Straight Sandwich 7 to 1
Pair Sandwich 1 to 1
Sandwich 1 to 1

For anyone who is interested, I ran some numbers and this sidebet never gets close to 0% House Edge no matter what the count. I was hoping that I'd find some count where the house edge decreases, doesn't seem to be so.

As someone that has dealt this before, the only common thing I've seen is that some players will start to focus more on the In-Between bet, and not on their actual BJ hand. Just my $0.02.

Hi surrender88s,
