The Digital Blackjack game in the DigiPit is also part of the "You Can't Lose Promotion":

The games in the digipit are:

8D
H17
DOA
DAS

Is this worth playing with the rebate? Do the # of decks and H17 rule negate the EV of the rebate?

Thanks.

That pit is also the one with the dance floor with stripper poles in the middle, where the Playboy Playmates will dance.

We can use Eliot Jacobson's Loss Rebate Theorem to answer your questions. By plugging in the game's player EV of -0.0066 for mu, and 1.1417 for sigma, and assuming you would play any free play coupons in the digipit (so L = 1-0.0066), I get these results depending on the table max:

Max bet Rounds Goal Profit Prob. goal
$5,000 729 $352,715 $54,919 0.215
$2,000 2,511 $239,388 $39,401 0.279
$1,000 6,182 $184,103 $27,490 0.322
$500 14,701 $147,547 $17,021 0.349
$100 93,888 $110,535 $4,058 0.344

So, if I used Eliot's formula correctly, it looks like the offer is valuable if the table max is high.

I believe the table min is $5 and max is $500

Betting $500 per round, 50 rounds per hour, and 12 hours per day, playing the expected 14,701 rounds would take 24.5 days.

So playing only 2 days per week would negate any positive EV?

ChesterDog, I double checked your results. They are within epsilon of what my LRT program produces. I am not quite sure how you got the fractional dollar amounts -- I looped by wagering units.

Have to mention this; Here's a good definition of "within epsilon:"

A mathematician and a engineer agree to a psychological experiment. The mathematician is put in a chair in a large empty room and a beautiful naked woman is placed on a bed at the other end of the room. The psychologist explains, “You are to remain in your chair. Every ten seconds, I will move your chair to a position halfway between its current location and the woman on the bed.”

The mathematician looks at the psychologist in dismay. “What? I’m not going to go through this. I know I’ll never reach the bed!” And with that, he gets up and storms out. The psychologist makes a note on his clipboard and ushers the engineer in.

He explains the situation, and the engineer’s eyes light up and he starts drooling. The psychologist is a bit confused. “Don’t you realize that you’ll never reach her?”

The engineer smiles and replied, “Oh yeah… but in about two minutes, I’ll be close enough for all practical purposes!”

Even if you could bet 500, it might be set up like the PA ones I played at that if the payout was 1200 or more (including original bets) the stupid thing stopped for a hand pay. So a 500 double down would pay 2000 and stop everything.

I did used to play multiple hands on those things though.
